Destiny's Crucible determined by (bad) Connections and NOT by Skills
Bungie and i are very old friends and we go way back, together (see Legacy Bungie stats at my profile)
At first my connection: 120MB/s download, 12MB/s upload, 12m/s PING, wired with 5 meters long UTF Cat 6 cable, which goes directly from my PS4 to the Modem-Router, NAT type 2 (all needed ports open and forwarded), UPnP enabled: Yes
The problems that i (and many more European? players, most with very good connections) experience in Destiny's Crucible for 90-95% of the time:
1. Enemies see me earlier on their screen, then i see them on my screen
2. Mostly it feels like i am shooting with water pistol at the enemies, but they are shooting back with machine guns
3. A lot of times the enemies lag.
3. Mostly players with one red bar (which are almost impossible to kill) are MVP.
4. A lot of players are sometimes almost invisible (i don't mean Hunters)
5. Enemies are shooting my team mates which stand 10m in front of me and i die (them not)
6. Sometimes i die from nothing. Nobody near me, no grenades or snipers and i suddenly die or lose a lot of my health.
7. Mostly i lose from any shotgun, while on all characters i am using Felwinters Lie or Two The Morgue (with very good perks)
8. I start shooting somebody in the back or from the side, he turns arround, looks where he has been hitting from and kills me.
9. From CoD i have learned not to stand in the open, but always look for the rocks, walls, windows, etc. to hide by body, so the enemies only see my upper body or my head while i am shooting at them.
For example: I am hiding behind a rock, knowing that the enemy is coming from the cave and that i only have to pull the triger for 1mm to shoot. Suddenly the enemy appears outside the cave and shoots me, before i can even pull the trigger.
10. I shoot my whole mag in the enemy and 1/4 of his health is down. Then i see on the kill cam that 2-3 of my team mates shoot him further....He kills them all, because their bullets are not beeing registered.
11. Almost can't make kills with Titan's Lightning Grenades. It seems like i am throwing potatos at enemies. My other grenades mostly do totally nothing. It's really frustrating to see the enemies on the kill cam standing in your grenades and taking no damage.

The problem is that i like Destiny and i am addicted to the game. Also i want to achive full Grimoire Score. Otherways i would have quit a long time ago.
When reading my post above, you have to know that i was very, very good in every CoD online and in some CoD's i was very high ranked on different leaderboads. Halo 3 almost every match Top 2 (see my profile/ click Halo 3- matchmaking)....... With this i only want to say that i am an experienced player.
Can someone from Destiny please test your servers, because they don't work correctly.
Any more players experience the same like me?
Does anybody know what do i have to change to get a "better" connection?
I intent to keep playing Destiny. That's why i'm hoping for as much replies as possible, so Bungie will see it and hopefully do something about it.
EDIT: Played 1000 Crucible matches untill now and at least 90% of those matches LAG!!!!

You Stupid -blam!-s wouldn't know how a proper -blam!-ing game should work if a different company held your -blam!-ing hand through the whole -blam!-ing process. Nut we sure as hell cant not play it because you've forced us to by creating rewards only available through your shit crucible. I hope eventually the full game comes out because I'm really tired of this -blam!-ing beta test that was released years ago.

Trials suffers greatly from this . Iron banner is now Lagg Banner . & now the taken king will have the same issues in pvp unless bungie with it's 10 year plan decides to do a dam thing about it .

You wait for so many more of them to come along with Iron Banner starting tomorrow (28th). Iron Banner is when the lag is at its worst. It doesn't matter how good your ISP is. The servers are in California (AFAIK), and there is nothing that will fix the basic logistical problems of non-regional ping speeds. You are asking for the developers to fix it? So is everybody else. We are all desperate for a real fix for this problem. The reality is, they already have our money, so as far as Bungie is concerned, we can all get -blam!-ed. No support for us.

It's not your fault or your connection. I'm from europe and constantly have a yellow/red bar and only in rare situations a green one. It's annoying, especially because PvE runs perfectly(!) without anything changed on my end. So it's Bungies fault, not ours.

2 RepliesThe worst is when the opposing fire team has a laggy host. Like ffs play alone instead of lagging the whole lobby. My entire pug team would be all green bar and then I go in with blade dance and here my blade connect with the enemy only to watch then walk out of it. Cut them two more times for good measure and they blink out and I get shot gunned.

The thing is is that they promised us something and didn't deliver what they said they would give us. So we all spent money and purchased this game onlt tp find out The game has no story, no balance, and horrible pvp. The game is purposely addicting. Look it up, they made it this way on purpose. They wont listen to us, or anything else because most of their Devs have been working on Destiny-2. So when they they announce Destiny-2 all the hype will start and we will all forget about how badly we were lid to in the first place and spend another billion dollars for destiny-2. In order to have dedicated servers they need to spend money, alote of it...However Its activision that will haveto spend it and they are very, very greedy and will never do anything for us (the gamers) unless we have a movement and demand that they give us what is needed. This is why the Dev cycles are 1-2 years, so that before too many stop playing, with a "new" game comes new hope for us, the gamers, and they keep their hooks in us while not spending too much money. Its a scam guys.... They feed us little bits here and there to shut us up, but all in all the truth is Desity is not even close to what they told us we would have, and to rub it in even fuller, they give us the worst PvP system in history hoping the HYPE blind fans will keep it alive for 6 to 9 more months until the new game, or expansion will bring back players. I do love Destiny don't get me wrong, but there are so many, many problems. The game is like buying a car at a lemon lot... for cars.... you go to a used car dealership and a guy is there in a suit telling you how great it is, them after you buy the car it breaks down, or there is an annoying noise, or the car is actually riddled with issues, and as you come to realize you were lied to, the car dealership guy is smiling and counting your money. This is what Bungie and activision has done to us all guys. I do love the game but all I do is PvP and the amount of lag and maybe cheating is unbearable most of the time. But it will never be fixed, Bungie oir activision has not even once made any type, or attempt at making a statement about the lag and stuff which is language of corporations for "If we don't say anything about it, it doesn't exist".

Haha last time I played crucible I was able to guess who would be the best player on the other team in about 6 straight matches. Just pick the lowest level player with a red bar connection! I agree with everything you have said. I have a buddy who plays at his place and his gf's house. He is a 2.0 at his place and a 1.2 at his gf's. I personally have never seen an invincible player but I notice that it is close to impossible for me to get a non shotgun kill sometimes... my damage output fluctuates violently.

I almost never get a green bar and if I do I won't have it for long since it will drop me back down to a red bar. I've done that infuriating tedious port forward and it still does this to me. So Bungie, F-U-C-K Y-O-U!!! It isn't my internet, I connect to every other game perfectly.

With the sort of hardware you're talking about I'm surprised you're getting such consistent lag. I've been moving around a fair bit the last few months (UK-Hungary-Germany) and had a few addresses in each country, so have connected through a lot of different set ups and providers. Any connection that was under 10mb/s was going to be shonky, but above 25mb/s I got an essentially reliable connection a lot more than you have. Maybe one match in eight had any game-outcome-effecting lag issues. The forums are full of people complaining about lag, but 90% of matches is chronic. You think maybe your ISP is partly to blame? How did you manage to get through [b]1000[/b] matches that way? I'd be in a little room with only one window, yelling at passing orderlies that the ones who ran tasted the best.

4 Replies1. I rarely play crucible(although I do play SOME iron banner) 2. When I do play I rarely experience lag. 3. When I do experience lag it is clearly a lag switch(solid motions from enemy just can't die) 4. In those games I am almost always top 2 in my team. 5. If a player has a red bar it usually isn't based on said player but how bungie's servers handle the host 6. I have standard 30/30 Internet(Verizon fios) 7. My friends and I do not complain about lag because we don't see it. 8. Compared to cod these lag issues are miniscule at best. 9. Thus all of these issues must have to base on a combination of your shoddy Internet connection and an unfortunate amount of circumstances where people around you lag as well. 7 RepliesGo wired, I had horrible connection with WiFi and went wired and wow the difference. There are going to be some laggy games still, I go red bar like 5-10% of the time now instead of 30-40% so I would try that first. If your wired, you need Jesus.

1 ReplySome of us (Australians) that have literally the worst connection speeds in the world aren't to be blamed here. Matchmaking should be based on where you are located. You shouldn't get Australians playing with Europeans. The connectivity would be shocking. It should be Australians playing with Asians and other close neighboring countries (for example)

Great example. The lag ... it's .... real!!! So much, it's a burden to have fun. Since the last IB I've put very little time towards Destiny in general. The crucible is an absolute joke and caters to bad connections. And, Bungie has yet to give us any reason they will change the matchmaking protocol when searching for players. They can fix this folks; they [Bungie] choose not to. Until people stop playing the lag and shitty matchmaking will continue. Hey Bungie!? Fix this shit!!!!
