So basically, I recently decided to give this game another go after not having played it after the first month of launch. I had gotten myself some nice vanguard armor in that time, the Eclipse Maw warlock set. Now I come back to the game, begrudgingly purchase the expansion pass since it's basically required and what do I find? Nearly every player above level 28 looks almost the same because everyone is forced to wear the armor with the most light to stay at that level, in this case, any exotics, Crota's End raid gear or post-Dark Below Iron Banner gear. So if I want to wear my cool as hell Eclipse Maw chest armor, I have to go down a whole level or two because Bungie didn't bother to update everyone's old gear or give us a way to make older Legendary gear better? I had been told that it was also impossible to get any old Vanguard gear through engrams anymore, though I did get the old Vanguard warlock bonds through vanguard packages. What about that armor? Is it now exclusive to the people who never got rid of it? Why can't it be sold again with updated stats? Why can't the older legendary gear be upgraded like old exotics can? My idea was simple, just make it so that older legendary gear can be upgraded. If they've already got an exotic upgrade system in place with Xur then surely it wouldn't be difficult to add something similar for Legendary gear? I've also heard that Vault of Glass raid gear wasn't upgraded either. Why would people work to get some super cool armor without any way to stand up to the new stuff when the new stuff releases?
