So the idea is the following: Weapons will be dropped as a gray looking weapon. All Scout Rifle drops will look exactly the same gray Scout Rifle and the same goes for all other type of weapons. Now comes the upgrading.
You go to the weaponmaster and spend coins or mote of light on several items:
Custom Grip
Custom scope
Custome barrel
Custom Clip
And more
And now you got a custom weapon but wait! It needs a shader ofcourse. Boom spend some more coins or mote of light on a shader. But why not invent 2 shader slots and allow for custom paterns to use both shaders!
But wait ITS NOT OVER YET!
Now comes the actual upgrading for the damage. No more forced pick on materials NO! Now you can decide yourself wich material you use and voila you customize even more! When picking Helium Filaments from the moon your weapon suddenly gets that weird shit on it like the Crota Raid weapons got! Now all we have to do is invent similar awesome stuff for Cabal (Relic Iron), Fallen (Spinmetal), and Vex (Spirit Bloom)
Spirit Bloom could make your weapon more machine like and infuse crystals in your weapon like the spots you land precision shots on on Vex. Or more unnatural machine looking like the Vex Mythoclast.
Spinmetal can add metal spikes to your weapon on varius spots to make it look more like a Fallen weapon and Relic Iron can be used to add panzer to your weapon to make it look more Cabal like.
