Not a good time to be new
With all of the joys that comes with playing Destiny, and hours of killing things and saving the small region we call Humanity's Last Hope... There are plenty of things wrong with this game.
But if your new, and want to join the community, it is really impossible to feel welcomed with all the chaos from the new Bungie followers spewing all about. Blaming Deej, for not programming new game updates, he is the community manager for God sake. People who doesn't know Bungie acts like Deej is the man who can write the core code of the game.
People need to realize that this game is an evolving environment, molded by our ideas, needs, and wants. Bungie has given us an engine and platform, for us to create the next big video game legacy. We shouldn't be holding expectations. Bungie has said that this was a 10 year project. The dev team is letting us help build this franchise with them.
The forums is more, or less a café for us Guardians, to talk, share war stories, and talk about the strange glitches we have encountered in the game. Even talk about hopes and dreams about the future updates, and sequels. This whole community is acting like Bungie is the North Korean Government. Forcing you to play a broken game. No one is forcing you to play this game. Move on if it makes you so angry to the point where you have to cuss, type in bold letters, and bully other community members for your short comings.
Bungie is giving us a voice on here, a chance to help improve our hunts, and Raids. Why are we abusing this privilege by bashing and cursing??? When a new member comes into this forum, I'm sure it turns them away, and eventually avoiding the game due to all the negative Nancy's. We're only driving this majestic opportunity into an early grave, Guardians.
The fact that the dev team, and the community manager has taken this abuse for so long, truly shows they love what they do, and only wants to share the joy with the rest of us.
I'm sorry to all the new players, stepping into this community, and seeing how broken it is. I ensure you, there is so much to do, fun and kind people to speak with, and glory to claim in this epic adventure.

My first lfg raid someone told me I belonged in a kitchen. And then I was berated for being bad at PvP. When I shared an account with my husband I think I was buffered from some of this but being a newer account and figuring some out on my own has been..interesting. I've met some great people too and my skills as a player get better the more I challenge myself.

I've found the opposite actually. And it's rather funny, I recently got my girlfriend to start playing destiny and every guy she meets on destiny is more than willing to help her with something despite the fact she has no good equipment or weapons. I help organize raids on daily basis, and she'll be in the party. All of a sudden guys flock because they hear a female on the other end of the headset. Whether this is wrong or right I think it's just funny. Anyways, destiny is a dying game. Especially for many players who have grinded since day 1 to get everything they have. Only thing I foresee is what I'm calling "The Great Revival" TTK offers a wide variety of new content to destiny, changing what we see as a lackluster game into something slightly new. For what it's worth I think I might find joy in this game again. I'm still on destiny daily for some odd reason but, if you find yourself in need of a relic holder or trials player I'm here. I'm always willing to help once I get my weekly reset stuff done and I've made my weekend lighthouse trips

We welcome anyone that needs help through raids nightfalls trials crucible. Anything we have players more then welcome to help. And even get on our team and spread the joy to anyone else. We're a positive bunch that admire destinys community aspect and are just trying to embrace the oppurtunity it's giving us. Please like our Facebook page and leave some comments. 1 ReplyI got the game in Friday and met someone almost right away to level with, it was his third character so he gave me loads of information to get going, then I joined a clan who have been really helpful so I'm not sure I think it's a pretty good time for new players to join I haven't had any problems so far?

1 ReplyI've had destiny for about a month now and absolutely love it. There are issues but I've never played a game where everyone is happy it just doesn't work that way. You see more negativity here because the people that love it don't really care about the complaining. They just want to play the game. And if newer people need help I have a lvl 30 that should be 32 within a week. And I'm lvling up another character as well. Add me on one gt is the same as above.

2 RepliesWell said, the Noobs think that they are entitled. They just make me mad instantly hitting the level cap while we, players from Day 1, had to work for every single piece. The new guys have it handed to them, without any work at all.

1 ReplyYou don't need these forms to play the game and enjoy it, and if anything now is an excellent time to be new at this game considering the fact that there is a span of time where content hasn't been released and a lot of people are getting bored. And if people didn't know there are actual websites that are dedicated to just finding people to raid with or play the game with you don't even need these forms if you really don't want to use them.

I think the forums and the game have a very different tone. Every random I've met in game, with the exception of two or three, have been pretty decent nice guys. On the forums, not so much. Good luck with it dude! You'll be fine. There's a lot to love, and a lot to hate. Enjoy the game for what it is, not what you think someone told you it was.
