Beware: Iron Banner weapons are bugged, Lash confirmed

So yesterday I did some testing with the Lash that I received from IB 4 and found some strange data: I will quote the post here:
So I ran some tests and the results were sobering. All tests were run with a 31 Gunslinger on 30 Level Cabal regular (non-ultra) cabal enemies. All 3 tested Wepaons are fully upgraded to 331 Attack all damage is crit-damage Timur`s Lash does 1362 damage with the perks I have on it (SendIt, Outlaw, FEeding Frenzy); Hawkmoon does 1354 damage with no buffed bullets and 1805 (1 stack) and 2405 (2 stack) Thorn does 1210 damage + (4x98 piercing) = 1602 It seems that Chain of Woe and Armor that increases reload stack with Outlaw/Feeding Frenzy and Chain of Woe, the reoload on the Lash is insane, but I have no recording equipment to actually measure the frames. A bummer is that "Armor piercing" absolutely does nothing for the wepon, you can`t even penetrate corrugated sheet with it. And despite showing an increase on the Impact stats, when chosen, the damage output is identical to the damage that results if you chose another perk. My conclusion is that the disadvantages of the Lash (lower firerate, smaller mag, less dmagae output even with full reload perks) are a draw with the advantage that you free an exotic slot up. It boils down to preferences imo. If the Armor-piercing would work it would be a great choice for PvP but as it stands I will most likely use it for PvE only.
The strange thing is that when you compare the stats that the compare option gives you and get the numerical data from DestinyDB the Impacts are as follows: Timur`s Lash = 94 Hawkmoon = 81 Thorn = 68 see how that does not fit into the damage output? The 331 Lash does only meager 8 Damage points more than the Hawkmoon but the 331 Hawkmoon does 144 more Damage points than the (piercing-subtracted) 331 Thorn. But the numerical Impact differnces between the three are always 13 points. Also Armor piercing that visibly enhances the Impact does absolutely nothing on the weapon. My guess is: The 331 Lash is only a 300, with armor piercing not working on it. Could anyone who has a 300 Lash test how much damage it does. Maybe other IB weapons are also affected. TLDR; The 331 Timur`s Lash that a lot of us grinded for is bugged, probably only a 300 version. Edit 1: So the Lash`s damage seems to be all over the place. I tested it today against Raid-Thralls/Acolytes (L30) with the same Gunslinger Hunter and suddenly it did 1905 damage per Bullet. Same weapon, similar enemies. Why it should do Bonusdamage against Hive and Malusdamage against Cabal is a Mystery to me. Will keep testing. Maybe someone has an explanation?

  • All cabal (except psions) reduce the headshot modifier. Normally it is x3 dmg on a headshot but on cabal I think it is only x2

  • Here is something I have noticed amongst most weapons that have seemingly similar stats. Take the LDR, has the same basic stats as the IB, but the damage caps off at about 6900 on crits and 900 on body shots Vs level 26 enemies (not including burn modifiers) while IB does around 7300 on crits and 1100 on body shots. I honestly think that no matter how close the stats are on a weapon (even if they are identical) exotics are still 1 tier above legendary weapons and were probably made to do a bit more damage even if the stats don't add up exactly.

  • Pretty sure armor piercing only shoots through walls if it's on a sniper if that's what you're talking about. On handcannons it just let's you shoot through an enemy and hit 1-2 more behind him.

  • Thrall have higher damage output on their heads maybe? Perhaps they are a less armored enemy, and therefore take more damage from various weapon types. Did hawk moon and thorn also do more?

  • on your hawkmoon do you have aggressive ballistics equiped? If so then take it off, that boost the damage output by 10%.

  • When comparing damage between weapons always make sure you are shooting the same type enemy (level and red/yellow). Also, make sure you are shooting something of relevance to your level, at about lvl 26 (as a lvl 28-32) for the enemy I found damage to hit a plateau. Converse to this, all lvl 2s that I shot were capped at 1900 crit hits regardless of the atk of the weapon. Last thing, make sure the weapons are all at the same atk value, otherwise not a fair comparison.

I haven't lvled the new one yet but i have q maxed old one i was doing 1628 headshots to dregs withe the 300 version. Ill check it when i max my new one. Armor piercing is good but you have to line up shots it goes through enemies only. Not walls or shields. Works best against thralls.

Hawkmoon's impact is 81 without any barrel upgrades. Aggressive Ballistics might possibly push its impact very close to Timur's. Also, note that impact is not directly proportional to damage. It's a linear relationship. All guns have a base damage and Impact adds damage on top of that. It's why you don't see Shadow Price hitting for 20x more per shot than AE. So the 13 point impact difference between Hawkmoon vs Thorn and Hawkmoon vs Timurs will not give the same differences in damage numbers. Armor piercing round's original function is to hit two enemies at once. The wall piercing ability on snipers that has recently been popularised is simply a very convenient side effect for snipers. As for your varying crit damage, different enemies actually have different crit multipliers.

        • Cabal have funky armor. If you shoot a legionnaire in the head it does less than shooting a psion in the head, much less. Don't know why other guns against the same Cabal wouldn't do the same. Try testing it on Hive.

          • I'm pretty sure it is because all enemies (PVE) have different hp, (example)killing acolytes can be done with one headshot from VoC, using the se gun takes 4 headshots on cabal legionaries, 3 on Knights. There may also be a damage cap on certain enemies, for example public event enemies on Cosmo take very little damage from the same guns because the damage received is capped(enemy level 4-6, me level 32) But yeah my timurs lash 331 fully upgraded does 1905 to level 32 enemies(red bar) on Crotas end and me as a 32

            • Maybe the enemies them selves have stats? I would imagine the defence or armour of a generic cabal is higher then generic thrall.
