Picture this:
A strike or raid or quest or whatever (let's go with quest). Your vanguard leader messages you informing you that an Ahamkara has been found on [insert planet here]. You and your fireteam rush to the scene. The hunt begins. To complete the mission you have to follow tracks and clues. A footprint here, a smashed plant there, a slaughtered pack of fallen, all guide you in your hunt. You may very well get lost and have to abandon the mission. Those who succeed in the hunt and survive the perilous journey will find the Ahamkara den...
Edit: Woohoo! We're trending! Keep it up everyone.
Edit 2: I noticed this thread is listed directly under a nearly identical one in the "trending" section. Just know it was not my intention to rip anyone off. The fact that two of identical posts coincidentally showed up like this just shows that Bungie ought to listen.
Edit 3: Lots of [slightly irritating] remarks saying that supposedly only warlocks can kill Ahamkaras. So maybe when you get to the boss fight Titans and hunters would have their own roles and warlocks would do the actual killing. Just an idea.
Edit 4: Just kind of got an idea. Who wants to ride an Ahamkara?
Edit 5: Ok I guess people are reading this post again. Months after I thought it died... Weird.

Apparently they can read your mind and influence you. They're currently in hiding and have tricked people's minds into believing they're extinct. That's how some have interpreted the grimoire anyway. It does make sense if you read them
-
I bet something is coming eventually with these buggers, can't wait. They seem to be super smart dragons.

If the Ahamkara do indeed return...ya'll better get that light up.
-
PETA won't be happy about this...

Edited by Man Torpedo FTW: 5/5/2015 4:21:03 AMCould be like a very rare event on patrol. Kinda like the Blades of Crota. On the text screen it could say "The hunt has begun..." And a load roar is heard. After the Ahamkara flies around the area and attacks the player with a claw scoop melee, a "plasma fire breath" attack, and I special dive bomb attack where it ignites itself and plummets towards a player causing a plasma explosion. Warlocks are given a buff called "ancestral Right" that vastly increases their melee damage that is always fully charged to the Ahamkara. You have a certain time limit to kill it or it flies away and kills all players that have dealt damage to it sending them into orbit like a nightfall effect. At the end if you succeed you could receive any ahamkara exotic armor pieces or legendary engrams. Since it is "the dragon that grants wishes".

Would be awesome and really fun, but I could swear I read somewhere that they were all extinct. I could be wrong though

Read my post about having them as Pets :)

I think it would be a good idea to discover the demise of the ahamkara was the product of a corrupt decision and they were actually good and so you spend your time trying to clone one once you do it recognizes you as its master and senses a danger from like the cabal or something trying to take the city so you and a team along with a dragon in the background slinging enemies in the air destroy an entire army but at the cost of your dragon because it sacrifeses itself in order to defeat some boss in the end and you and your team get armor made from its remains the last ahamkara you think it's all over then at last you see a brief flash of annother ahamkara that is in a cloning tank promised that once again the ahamkara will be a vital source for the guardians to come out on top

That moment when the community has better ideas than the devs.....
im not surprised here
I officially pronounce this post BUMPED!

In a grimoire card it said the ahamakara were hunted to extinction. The warlock on I think

Edited by ALIAS-F4LS: 2/18/2015 11:45:14 PMWould make for an intense fight and able to make it so you can do battle on something like a large cruiser fending off hoards of enemies while you attempt to charge a harpoon style canon to try and draw a vulnerable spot (perhaps his eyes) in for your team to open fire on. Seems like it could make due for a tense nail biting battle against something you can't quite see the end of.

Edited by ST1LL BR3ATH1N3: 1/27/2015 10:22:36 PMYeah my buddy already posted a very long detailed and in depth suggestion for this! His name is JoshMdy! Plagerize much buddy??? Anyone that wants to read the real post with in depth details from the origonal person that wrote and designed and suggested this just search for hunt the ahamkara and find the one written by JoshMdy
-
Don't get your hopes up buddy bungievision is not going to add anything that wasn't already on the disc.
-
That would be a cool raid or event sort of thing, hunting down an oversized bat, the size of a mountain
-
Concept art from upcoming ahamkara hunt dlc
-
You could have it so that titan takes all the attention of it while the hunter shoots weak spots to weaken it until the warlock can kill it
