Pay attention to how Sony handles this vs. Microsoft
When Sony got hacked a few years ago and was down for over a month, I bought Xboxes and rebought all my games. I was furious at how Sony kept the network down for so long. Now we see a similar situation, except both companies are being attacked simultaneously. Here we can compare the responses from both companies. I am in Xbox and playing while Sony has kept the network down completely. There are a few advantages to the PS platform but I have stayed with Xbox ever since the big PS attack a few years ago because Microsoft puts more effort into keeping their network up and running. This is just something to keep in mind when shopping for a system.

I received little big planet for free when the ps network was down forever ago. Totally worth it.

I dont think this should really affect anyones decision when buying a console. If the system is down, its down. Plus it would only be down for a few days to a week. You dont beed to play everyday. Skipping a week of games is VERY manageable. Go read a book. Hang with friends and go to movies with them. Watch porn. Exercise. Do something other than video games.

3 RepliesJust a quick question because I'm not sure how dependent Xbox is on live. When PSN was down, I could still use Hulu/Netflix since PSN is not required for these services. When live was down, could apps like these still be utilized? #sincerity

11 RepliesYour stance isn't considering a lot of things. It's not wrong, but it's just recent that Sony started to ask its players to pay for ps4 psn. The situation a few years back when psn was down for a month it was FREE, how can u expect them to put a ton of effort on a free product that people took for granted until it got hacked. Now Sony is having us pay for psn (and this is where I agree with u), it was down for days... BUT it was brought up a lot sooner than before. I understand that down time is down time (I work for a tech company) but you're comparing apples with sandwiches lol. It was a personal decision for u to switch consoles. I personally like ps4 over xbox1 (and their legacy consoles too). I've never been too fond of what Xbox has to offer and I believe that some ppl feel the same way (and also vise versa). Cheers.

1 ReplyWhen my system was down I went outside... but I guess buying a new system is reasonable too. Mine was only down for a few days around Christmas tho... I don't know about this being down for a month part.

2 RepliesSony had a deeper and bigger attack than Xbox. Microsoft was attacked weakly twice, and Sony was attacked heavily, once. Plus they were still reeling from the (alleged) North Korean attack.

Both have perks at the end of the day and everyone likes different things. Microsoft are a computer company so they'll have backups and stuff in place. Sony are not. They're an entertainment company. However they built a better console. But yes the psn can sometimes suck. You ain't gonna change the world ranting about it tho.
