To everything about it, there must be an equal and opposite. He would mesh the Light and the Darkness. He would meld together technology and the arcane energies. He would bring together a token of love, and one of profound hate. To create a thing never before introduced to the cosmos, he would sacrifice one of its oldest children. He, The Shattered Man, would in turn shatter all bounds. He would create a Neutral Power. <missing pages> ...He had the knowledge of the cosmos, the raw power of a star, and a will of adamantium. He used them all. He spoke the words of power, forcing the fabric of the world around him to unknit and stitch back together according to his will. The stuff of time, space, and substance shrieked as it tore wide to give birth. He placed all that he had gathered for this moment into the rift. Straining mightily at the effort, he compressed the essence of the things into pure power and emotion. With the soul of his Power made, he soothingly ingrained it into the very atoms of his weapon. In one hand he gathered the brilliant Light, with the other he drew on the murky Darkness. Lightsworn though he was, he had traipsed the edge of darkness before and could call upon it. He brought his hands together slowly, carfully excercising his will upon both and forcing them to meld together. The world around him screamed as Toland forced his desires upon it... <portion burned away from page> ...He walked the the world with fire in his heart and hatred in his hands. None could stand before him. He had forged a Neutral Power, and it killed indescriminately. It slew servants of Light and Darkness by the hundreds, only growing more powerful as it ripped their essence from them. Gradually, as it grew stronger, his Power gained sentience. This marked the end of the Golden Age. <water damaged pages-- illegible> Bad Juju slew the last of the Ahamkara, the last of it's soul-kin. At this Toland wept, for he knew he had failed in his creation. If he, its creator and the man whose will could shatter the very bounds of the universe, could not control its bloodthirst then no one could. As the weapon was made with the fabric of time, space, and substance it could not be destroyed. Nor could his will overpower its own and force it to be something other than what it had become. And so, Toland took the only option left to him. He would have to die. He would entrap a part of the weapon's conciusness within his own, and he would die.
