I was only able to find one post about this--use of a keyboard to chat. It was a poll from a while ago with no discussion on it. Not sure how well known this is, but at least on the 360 (and I assume the One), USB keyboards are supported. I've got a wireless one I use for those random times that I need to type stuff, and it's waaaaay better than typing crap out with the controller. Anyhow, here's what I want to see happen--traditional MMO chat. Let people who have USB keyboards use them. I'm talking party chat and zone chat and chat in the tower. This would almost completely resolve all of Destiny's social problems. But what about flamers and trolls and blah blah blah--report and mute. Done and done. What about people without keyboards? Well, the game won't change for them. Maybe give them a menu with some prebuilt messages or something to quickly get some communication out. What about typing while holding a controller? I don't know about you, but I'm not typically typing in the middle of raid combat in WoW either. Having a controller in your hands when you're fighting instead of the keyboard will just make it harder for other people to make that poor decision.
