While all the others I feel are self-explanatory, I will explain why I feel Digital Downloads and Pre-Loading is wrong IMHO. The convenience is great that's obvious what may not be is it is not as competitively priced if they have a captive market, competition is good. Used game market will also die.
There may be others I have have missed or couldn't fit in, so please feel free to list other concerns you have if I have not included them or comment on the poll options above if you want.
Edit: Dishonourable mentions
Pre-orders & Day 1DLC
Split screen not being included as standard.
Renting servers
EA Access & the ilk

I legit thought you quit this website because you changed your profile picture haha
-
The feeling that games developers need to push out a game every year.

Edited by poopinator122: 5/16/2015 1:53:15 PMLet's see: Exclusive content Locked content No split-screen Online games Unfinished games Activision EA Showing DLC on game play footage Day one DLC Lack of content Online games without bots Micro transactions Pay 2 win Money grabs Rip offs Changing a game completely on the last minute (looking at you Destiny) That's all I can think of.

Generally being shit

I can deal with day 1 dlc. Just don't buy it. But broken/ unfinished games I can't do a thing about. Last ps4/Xbox game I remember being not broken (at least that I have played) was bloodborne. Sure the loading was a bit longer than it should be. But that's okay. Is rather have longer loading times than normal than broken games.
-
*cough* AC Unity *cough*
-
There was a game sooooooo broken at launch. Like it's unplayable. Reasons are: Frequent crashes and freezes Server failures Broken animations Insane amounts of bugs like; Weapons disappearing, dying for no reason, doors won't open, dialogue problems and much much more Glitches Game won't start
-
Dumbing down, simplification, and removing complexity is ruining gaming as developers are aiming their sights at gamers who aren't even old enough to buy them.
-
Mandatory online games have their place in the world and cater to a certain crowd. As for split screen, it depends what genre and platform. Everything else I agree with.
-
Who else is excited for Fallout 4? Now that's what I call taking your time to make a COMPLETE game!

All of le above

Servers can be a pain in the arse, and I hate it when games aren't finished... But... I f*cking HATE MICROTRANSACTIONS. I bought the f*cking game didn't I? I should own all of the content on the disk so far/ that they have developed at release. It's just so sh*tty 'thanks for buying our game, now we're going to leach money off you while you try to complete it' f*ck that sh*t. I don't mind paid DLC when the content:price ratio is acceptable, but microtransactions are just f*cking insulting, complete trademark of a company that cares more about wringing us out for as much profit as possible instead of delivering us a game full of content
-
I always enjoyed a game being a solo experience, and it messes with me that games are turning away from that
-
I chose Unfinished/Broken, but preorders are the cause of several issues you listed. If games had to stand or fall based solely on their quality upon release, we'd see a lot more quality.
-
1: games being broken for months at launch (I'm looking at you MCC and Unity) 2: dev's using DLC to fill in the holes 3: no 4 player split screen (honestly what's the point of owning more then 2 controllers anymore)
-
Bump.
-
I miss splitscreen. Not all my friends have an Xbox One and it'd be fun to play story modes or whatnot on splitscreen instead of having to be on two different consoles and tvs...
-
Pre orders are the reason why half of these are a problem
-
It's irritating when paid DLC is made to compensate for a unfinished game.
-
Too many paying for dlcs. I want my free shit!!!! 😠
-
How are people not worried about online only games? If your internet cuts out or if you have a power outage then you are screwed. Same goes with shitty internet, if you have bad internet then you can't really play at all.
-
They should just release a full game and get rid of DLC's. It's literally making me want to not buy that persons game if I have to pay 15$ a month just to stay active.
-
1. Unfinished/Broken games 2. Day one paid DLC (if it is free it is fine with me) 3. Only online/most of the experience is found online
-
Paid DLC: Nothing wrong with this at all. Don't even know why it's a category. Micro Transactions: Not all micro transactions are evil, contrary to popular belief. Always Online Games: Nothing wrong with this either. More and more people are getting internet. Unfinished/Broken Games: The one true answer here. Nothing else comes close. Not Dedicated Servers: Dedicated servers a plus, but if games don't have them it isn't the end of the world. Digital Downloads/Pre-Ordering: I see nothing wrong with both of those. Day 1 DLC: As long as it isn't massive or crucial DLC (ME3 Javik), then nothing is wrong with this. Games get finished, so developers can work on stuff that can ship alongside the game. Split Screen not standard: Not all games should have split screen. Renting servers: What's wrong with this? EA Access: $5 a month for a lot of games. Yeah, what a horrible service.
