Still disconnected frequently. Share your info.

Xbox 360, TWC, 30mb, hardwired, ports open, static IP, google's DNS, deleted system cache, several calls to ISP's and xbox live's tech supports, many posts here. Live in Ohio. All fixes tried short of switching my ISP or console. All other online games/streaming apps work flawlessly. Lol, here's how it plays for me 99% of the time. Since day one. Start patrol/story/crucible/tower/weekly/daily/nightfall, play for 5-10 minutes -[b]HAHAHAHA STUPID HUNTER YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD ESCAPE THE CATERPILLAR? TITLE SCREEN, MOFO. LEARN YOUR PLACE[/b]. Occasionaly it'll just be "disconnected from XBOX LIVE" or another animal. I've had a couple hawks, jackrabbits, lions, anteaters, weasels, one quail, one ferret, one newt. [u]There are 2 scenarios where I'm [i]mostly[/i] safe from disconnects: strike playlists, and when I'm in a fireteam with others.[/u] They're the only ways I can get any time in. This information HAS to mean something. Please, Bungie, use it. Contact me directly. Let me know how I can work around this. Or just fix it. [b]PLEASE. HELP.[/b] Anyone suffering similarly, please post your info here-or at least bump it. Thanks. I should mention...I love this game. I go straight up giggly imagining myself exploring and defending our solar system. I need someone to contact me directly. I think someone at Bungie knows what's up. I will pay. I'll switch ISPs. Let me know. So many times I have posted about this permanent disconnect issue. Zero response. Zero improvement. -OncomingStorm17 [b]EDIT:[/b] turns out the issue was the cheapy modem. It was choking my data (or something). Having my ISP put the modem in "bridge mode" fixed all my problems. Zero disconnects for months, now. A better modem would have fixed the issue, also.

  • Same exact issue here for over a month now. Can't farm mats or do bounties or play levels cause caterpillars and hawks. Today had a short weasel problem then back to caterpillars. Is it honestly to much to ask for to play the game I preordered and waited at midnight launch for that worked for weeks without issue. No it's not my internet I've tryed all your suggestions and have talked to Microsoft and Comcast.

  • My errors switched from hawk to caterpillar and now when I'm knocked to pregame and sign back in it disconnects from live. I've spent days talking to my ISP and xbox tech help and it's been back and forth with nothing being resolved. It's so frustrating to have spent money on a game and it's virtually unplayable.

  • I'm giving in and switching ISP. This is ridiculous, I'm on 2 weeks of this and no resolution. I can't even watch Netflix without it disconnecting.

      I've done everything... Uninstalling destiny and all updates... Reinstalled.. Nothing. Enabled port forwarding, unpn, refreshes, resets. You name it, I've done it and still nothing. I cannot play this game with my friends at all. We both have the same Internet provider... I know for a fact I can't go to the hell mouth via the fastest route. I always, no matter what, disconnect from bungie servers, then xbox live. Whenever I spawn on the moon and try to take the left route, once I hit the loading screen... Bam! Goodbye.

    • Hi Oncoming, I'm sorry to hear you have had this issue for so long. Sometimes this is out of the player's control and up to us to investigate, so this may be an issue you cannot solve alone if all options have not worked. Have you attempted removing all ports, updating your router, and enabling UPnP? The exact steps vary widely by router. Broadly you should follow these steps. Searching the internet for your exact router model's manual can be helpful. 1. Sign in with a computer to your routers admin page. 2. Look around "settings" and "advanced settings" type pages. 3. Try to locate UPnP. 4. If it's not enabled turn it on. You may have to reset the router. 5. Restart your console

      • From what I've seen on the forums, the vast majority of players experiencing [b]HAWK[/b]/[b]CATERPILLAR[/b] errors more frequently than other errors all have a modem/router combo from their ISP. The routers in these things suck (not to mention the SSID and device password can't be changed and is stored in your ISP's database *shudders*). [b][i][u]Here's what fixed it for me:[/u][/i][/b] 1 - Log into your router/modem combo'd admin panel (via 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 - whichever your range is. Google it.) 2 - Turn on Bridge Mode. I don't know about the other ISPs, but Comcast originally had this locked to where you had to call them to turn this on. Due to a flood of complaints and support calls, they added it back into the device software. Bridge Mode turns off routing capabilities and basically puts the combo device in a modem-only mode. 3 - Set up a router (the one you used before they sent you their "new" hunk of junk). Make sure your console's network settings are up-to-date with the newly plugged in hardware's settings. 4 - Bingo-Bango-Dodge-Durango. No more zoo.

          I've been playing destiny with no issues until this week. I keep getting booted and it says I left my current fire team, I have cox 150 down 30 up with nether nighthawk R7000. Never had this issue before. I've played fine on both 360 and xbox one. But currently the xbox one is having issues. Would love some help from anyone as to why this problem persists. Also my NAT is open, ports are fine, and UPnP is enabled. NO ERROR CODE JUST "You have left your current Fireteam. You are now being returned to orbit"

        • Yeah I've been getting an Xbox live disconnect every 3 to 7 minutes. Only playing Destiny, and starting in a public event. Generally I can't log back into Live until I exit the game. I'm seriously considering leaving Destiny for a while.

            • After enabling UPnP:no improvement. Please continue to post problems/attempted fixes here. I've still yet to try turning off my modem's wireless and using my own router. Will post resulta in the morning when I try it.

            • I started playing destiny getting kicked of every 10 mins pissed me of to were I threw my controller bc I have anger issues but I did some research found out that time warner cable runs a ddw format that comes with their wireless routers if u have them turn of the wirless capabilities and u plug in your own wirless router your golden im swear on all I love since I did that 2 months ago ive seen maybe one disconnect I hope this helps I truly do and if it works for u let me know and pass it on if u have any questions of what I used hit me up on here or xbox the gt is the same ill gladly tell u everything ik to try to help

              • Greetings I am here in the hopes of finding help. You see the problem is I have so much trouble getting to the tower. . Why you ask ? Beaver, leopard, Flatworm, Caterpillar, Apple, Eel, Rabbit, Fly, Centipede, Jackrabbit, Anteater, Quail, Baboon, Impala, Gopher, Jellyfish. Canary, Newt, Bee, Cat, Stinkbug, Zebra, Bass, Wessel, Pineapple, Kingfisher, Elk, Chicken, Currant, Marion berry, Beetle. These are most of the error codes I have come across in my time playing destiny. I believe a lot of these errors have been solved as I do not see most of them any more, But the problem still persists. When I play destiny in takes me on average 4 - 6 attempts to get into the tower. and when I do finally get there I could be there for a minute or an hour. Sometimes I get in first times other times I just give up and walk away. This is very frustrating for me as I really enjoy playing destiny but I can not take the anguish any more. Now I am not here to point fingers name names or call people out, Nor am I here to abuse or go on a tyrannical rant. I am here seeking help so I can once again enjoy my destiny experience. Here is what I no because I have try to work this problem out and fix it myself and although I have had success the problem is getting worse. I have a PS4 It has a static IP and DMZ I have opened all the ports according to the bungie help section. And when I first did this (opening the ports the rest was in place) I had immediate success and had the most solid connection. not one error code and one drop off I was ecstatic. Then along came Hotfix - 10/14/2014 and it undid all the work from my end and the error codes came back to haunt me. It started with taking multiple attempts to get to the tower, Then I started getting kicked from activities not very often but as time has progressed the error codes the drop offs have steadily increased. for example yesterday it took me 3 attempt's to do the daily event on one character and I have 3 characters ( and no its not because I don't have thumbs ) I have try doing activities with friends and solo it makes little to no difference. The main error code I am getting now are Beaver, Leopard, Flatworm, Rabbit and Quail. Please someone. . . anyone can you help me fix this issues I am having or point me in the direction of the problem ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for time and energy.
