What Players Really Want

So, people of the Bungie community, what is it that you truly want Bungie to do to improve Destiny? I for one, would like more cut scenes and a more detailed story...less grimoire related. A long with better public events...like The Last City being invaded by enemies of Humanity. I was also interested by the notifications they showed from the companion app which told you about new events/strikes/missions/raids. Yet I have not had any notifications from the app other than for forum posts and clan notifications.

    I would like qualifiers to be a factor in RNG. Such as - You must achieve a .75 k/d ratio to enter the RNG draw on any crucible round (or something of that fashion) - You must have at least xx kills on any raid to enter the RNG draw (stop people riding coattails) [b]Others to mention [/b] - Broaden the public event notification range. I feel like I am missing out on so many of them just because I am not in the right place at the right time. - Vagabond vendors on planets. Would be nice to be able to buy some materials or consumables using glimmer. Vagabond can also be defended by way of a public event. - Improve the patrol missions. Maybe add some courier missions (point A to B timed missions) - Create a Database tab next to settings so we can lookup items/weapons/gear etc.... - Place glimmer bounties on players in the Crucible. I.E. xxxx of glimmer rewarded if bountied player is killed xx times in one match. To avoid grieving if player isn't killed 'bountied player' receives the bounty prize. - Patrol is a barren land. Should be crawling with enemies and vehicles wanting to take over. Too easy to get from point A to B. We need more 'mob' attacks. - Have your space craft actually drop you in the location you need to be in. If this was a way to extend the gameplay, it was a bad idea. - 10% (just a guess) of my game-time is space craft loading screen. I like that I can equip or work on my gear during this, but I want to be able to fly my ship or do barrel rolls or something cool. - Why the heck do all messages go to my PS inbox? Why can't we have an internal message system. Would it be too hard on the Bungie servers? - Skip cut-scenes. (maybe this is fixed, I haven't played a mission in awhile) - Improved bounties and way more of them. It is just a repetitive cycle from day to day doing the same ol' bounties. Why isn't there a material bounty yet? Like you need to collect 30 spinmetal and turn them in for a glimmer and rank reward? As of now the only complex missions are the exotics. So we know the fundamentals are there. Make multi-step missions please. And depending what rank you are with your faction depends on the level of bounty you get. So you need to grind crap bounties to get to the good ones. So there are a few ideas to work on.

    The game right now is awesome. I haven't out this many hours into a game since WoW. My wife hates it. I think this game would benefit most from a [b]Weapons Management System[/b] Let's face it, this game is about gear. Guns specifically. If you're like me and have three characters you know how much time it takes to gets your guns to the right person to do the right job. A system which would move the weapons portion of out vault into our space ship would allow us to access all weapons from our ship without having to fly into the tower to trade and hen log into another character, fly back in and Get them. Even weapons already equipped by other characters should be available. Element is important as well so having them sorted by primary, type, element would be great. (Ie. Special, fusion rifle, solar). What do you think.

    • More stuff in the game that isn't locked behind a pay wall like the current game. More story. Skippable cutscense. Freakin' FPS/MMO basics like private matches in PvP. The ability to see and interact with your clan in game. If I have to walk away from the console and to a PC to set up a match with fellow clan mates then there is seriously something wrong with your game. A way to turn off auto aim. A way to hit max level without doing the raid. Put the best guns in there, but don't tie max level to it. More variety. Needing a certain set of armor to hit ammo destroys any real opportunity to customize your appearance to your liking. Less grinding and RNG. A good game doesn't need RNG shenanigans to keep people playing. etc.

      1. Class armor perks. What if you implemented a system in which your class armor provided you actual perks. I can only speak from the Hunter's perspective so bear with me. For example, your Hardcase clock lets you revive teammates faster. Your Legend of Six Coyotes cloak allows you to do 5% more damage on enemies when firing on the same target as your teammates (strength of the pack, yes?). Or you can directly tie perks to respective skills from the tree like the Lucky Raspberry/Arc bolt grenade. Maybe one of those deer hunter cloaks ties to the Stalker skill and lets you retain invisibility a little longer. The more functionality these items have, the deeper your audience can immerse themselves in customization and choice. Also, it might help the Warlocks come to terms with their armbands. 2. More Legendary Vanguard gear options. Specifically the leg gear. Equip Million Million and the Vanguard leg gear then ask yourself who wants to go save the universe in their mom jeans? Like many guardians, I am constantly sacrificing functionality and level for style. It's a choice I willingly make, but I think you've seen the need for visual sidegrades. Crucible gear has them. Vanguard needs them too! 3. Exotic armor bounties that have in-game exposition and culminate in a miniboss/boss battle with an enemy I have yet to encounter. How amazing would it have been to fight an actual symbiote for my exotic helm? Imagine what one would look like. A creepy tentacle monster that attacks from the ceiling. Or maybe its a vaguely humanoid shape with skin like cooling lava that attaches to your body and tries to suck out your brains! How would a player fight it? What kind of mechanics would be involved that ends with a helmet with the symbiote attached? Missed opportunity, right? 4. More cooperative elements. This could be in story missions or in Strikes. Let us team with roles outside of the Raid. 5. More branches on the maps. Let us go high. Let us go low. Let us stumble into a seemingly inescapable room only to find out that a (insert class special/grenade/melee) can open this door or crack open the floor. How is this path different than the other? 6. Vertical maps for PvP and PvE. Maybe inside one of the narrow towers on Venus or in those tall metal structures in the Cosmodrome. I'm talking about a 12 story narrow ledge jumping do I want to die from shotgun or try for the window to nowhere nightmare of a level. With gorgeous clouds and certain death everywhere. 7. Missions with environmental hazards. Dust storms on Mars that knock your map offline. Snow drifts that can fall on you. Acid rains on Venus. Or journey into the lava filled crags and have to hot potato yourself across a lake of blue fire.

      • I and a lot of others realize that there aren't a lot of cutscenes, but lets face it if they added more cutscenes we would all complain about how we can't skip 'em.

      • Toggle matchmaking for everything. If you want to solo a strike you should be able to, and as such if you want to run a story mission with other people should be able to choose that too. Even if its just in the form of talking with folks in town. And chatting with the fireteams in strikes.

        • I think it would be cool if they did like weekly locations. For instance, open a small moon off a planet, or an asteroid or somewhere we can go, complete said tasks within the week and be rewarded some pretty unique gear. How cool would that be? To be able to travel to satellite locations around the planets we have now with little side quests and adventures to unlock area unique gear/weapons/etc. Also, please give me more options for buying things. I have all this glmmer but can't buy anything with it because once your a high level it becomes useless. I'd love to buy upgrades for my sparrow or unique customization (visually) for my gear to truly look unique and stand out. Let us be able to deck our ships out so they look completely different and cool while in orbit.

          • I would like to see the class specific armor have defensive capabilities.. For example a cloak with defense against void damage, or solar damage, or arc damage

          • To customize my armor. And guns. To see wild life. To get distracted and end up actually exploring locations. Wield enemy weapons. Use glimmer to buy things besides ammo. NPCs in the wild.

          • More cutscenes, more pve content period. Fill in the story so that it makes at least a little sense. Also more varying types of bounties. Some reward for doing story missions over again for replay value.

          • I want someone to check the C02 levels at Bungie, love the game but server errors, slow communication, event muck ups and strange decisions are holding it back from it's true potential

          • The big thing for me is the story, but since we're talking about new things anyways, i wanna see more stuff with the sword of crota. That thing is [b][i]fun as hell.[/i][/b]

            They need to add rewards for heroic story missions. Right now the only reason to do a story on "heroic" is for a bounty. More public events - some that are harder and last longer - we killed a walker in about 40 seconds today more shaders, stuff to buy with glimmer and motes, new currencies, new rep, new patrol missions

            • Overall i just want more, ive put in 7-8 days played and its stale as hell now which is to be expected but after 1000 hours of warframe i was still always entertained, destiny just leaves me wanting more. More guns, more armor, more shaders, i just get on each day grab some bounties and leave. Tuesday is fun but after that i play twice a week and call it a wrap

                The ability to transfer armor stats between legendary pieces and raid gear. I don't really like the Titan raid helmet but I love the vanguard one. Let me switch the for like 2000 glimmer. Real loot caves. Make caves where there are hordes of enemies. If you survive and make it to the end you are rewarded with an exotic gun or armor piece. More shaders! Weapon shaders! Ship shaders! Custom shaders! Capture the flag in PvP. Finally, can I just get the raid boots please?

              • Okay everything you said plus: A survival mode Theater mode Custom Crucible mode (private matches) Forge mode (to build or modify existing Crucible maps) A file share for sharing screenshots, video clips, custom gametypes, and Custom maps.

                • Speaking of the City; we're treated with a NICE HUGE city and a MASSIVE tower and the net area we can actually explore is at BEST 2% of it! We have no real interaction or relationships with any of the NPCs in the Tower, no stories from them lest we stand by them and listen to their randomly selected audio snippets which are a poor shorthand for ACTUAL characterization! There's an entire city to explore, politics which we are not privy to! There are lives being lived and deals being made, backroom meetings, black markets trading! The Tower is so integral, we go there daily but what do we know of these people besides that which we infer from shoddy grimoire cards? Almost nothing! I want to know more, I want to feel as though I live in my characters and my characters truly live in this city, not just protecting it but taking part in its day to day activities! I want to meet the children who are frightened still, I want to know WHY Eva Levante, who supposedly sells only emblems and shaders, needs scans of NEUTRINO TRACES! (???) Personally I think it's a cover and she's a spy/ I want to know why the Gunsmith has nightmares as an Exo, I want to know why the Vangaurd masters of the classes chose these roles rather than to take part in the action! GIVE ME MORE STORY!!

                  • Maybe trading Yes to proximity chat features! More ability to customize what your character looks like. Can I hear a shout out for beards?! No more armor shaders but give us the ability to paint our armor. Sort of like in Halo just with a larger color palette. An upgrading system to turn useless armor materials (ex. Hardonic essence) into ascendant shards or energy Private matches for the crucible... Not only that but some different game modes. (Read through the forums people have come up with some really fun and interesting ideas)
