So if you were around for the lead up to the launch of our next-gen consoles, you probably heard of this game called Titanfall. If you haven't, I'll fill you in.
Titanfall is a 2014 multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One on March 11, 2014; an Xbox 360 version was released April 8, 2014. The game was highly anticipated as the debut title from developers formerly behind the successful Call of Duty franchise.[1]
Titanfall was pure multiplayer, the campaign even had you playing against other players competitively. Basically, this game had a lot of hype, it came out, kinda meh, and it dropped off in terms of popularity because it lacked content and whatnot.
None of the above is important or relevant. What is relevant is an update that came out in the past week, which features a new, co-op horde mode. It turns a bunch of the multiplayer maps into wave defense arenas and it's a ton of fun. What got me thinking is "Why can't Destiny do this?"
A Destiny Horde mode, whether on the Crucible maps we have now or in closed off patrol areas, would be great, right? It would give us, the players, a fresh way to play the game, and also require minimal effort on Bungie's part since the maps, enemies, weapons, and other assets are all there. AI path finding may be an issue but, hey, I'm sure they can figure it out.
If Bungie set aside a small team to get the ball rolling on this, I think it'd be pretty cool.

I'm all for it, I rather enjoy when the Warsat public event crops up. It's an Actual challenge. I really enjoyed Firefight back in Halo Reach, as well as Spartan Ops in H4. I just really enjoy that sort of gameplay mechanic (and I notice that it's not for everyone) and I would dearly love to have something like this in the Destiny Universe. Either an Opt in, or a Reeeeeally extended Public Event that would last for a good while. I know some people have come across alien factions duking it out and More mobs spawn then is normal for a small scale battle. I haven't figured out if this is player activated, in that an actual player must kill a certain amount of one side or not, but if we had Bigger battles break out between alien factions on different worlds? I would spend even More time out on Patrols just to find em and participate!

Because the ENTIRE game is hoard mode. Every mission, every strike, every raid. "Sit here and shoot these waves of enemies" through all of it while your ghost needs "time" to open a door but convently finishes when the last enemy is killed.

End up having devil walkers and giant ogres epic

Edited by BlackHawkDrunk: 10/27/2014 12:13:05 AMHorde mode is such an overused gametype. I find its inclusion in games lazy & exploitative.

Bungie has done this in the past. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Firefight

This isn't Titanfall or CoDootie. Bai

Every mission is basically already horde mode
-
Loved it in Halo Reach, would love it in Destiny too!

Horde mode would be a great addition, just think of the farming you could do with endless hordes!!!!
-
I would love something like this.

I think a horde mode would be fun, I enjoyed it on gears.

Edited by SGT Bronson: 10/26/2014 2:23:44 PMWant horde mode? Go play the moon strike, the first thing you so is defend a door for 3 waves of enemies.

I'm sure the capabilities are there because note games are online only.
