"Please check your network settings."

Hi, Bungie. Your servers are still broken, and you still insult me every single time I receive an error code that tells me to check my network settings. Instead of "please check your network settings," can you change it to "pardon our dust?" That was always cute. You guys are adorable. I look forward to the day when I can actually play this game for a significant amount of time without getting an arbitrarily-named error code accompanied by your patronizing, slyly condescending nonsense. I really look forward to it, because part of your team made a solid game. I'd like to play it. That was the intention, right? I understand federal law requires corporations to put profits ahead of every other interest (a needless law if there ever was one), and I get that you already got our money when we purchased the game. So, mission accomplished. But how about a little favor for us, just as a sort of thank you? Make it so we can play the game that we bought. Just an idea... It might actually affect your profits positively in the long-term.

Server knowing out whole regions ([i]did everyone in Europe change their setup at once bungie?[/i]). And now we have a lame expansion pack lock people out of playing the game entirely.   • Tell ya what Bungie, talk to the Halo team, this never happened with *any* version of Halo. Is #Azure not up to the challenge? If not, you have some serious reworking to do.

  • I can't comment on the federal law stuff, but we are working hard to figure out why some players are still unable to have a solid, steady experience. In addition, I'll pass along the info that we should scrub the in-game error codes to be less "You can probably fix this by making sure your network is set up correctly" as that may not always be the case. That said, it is ALWAYS worth attempting to troubleshoot your connection to see if something in your control can help you stay connected. A lot of the issues are completely out of the user's control to troubleshoot, but many of them are. Either way, that is great feedback. Thanks.

        • Having Caterpillar error every 5 minutes... impossible to play and my network settings are fine. Nothing changed from last night when I was playing for hours with no issues... Fix this Bungie!!!

          • Looks like this stuff is this still a issue. Used to play without any problems whatsover, but today I'm getting nothing but Caterpillars. No connection issues, no hindrance from firewalls, but Caterpillars regardless. Although I should note it ONLY happens when I'm playing a mission/strike/crucible. Menus and the City are safe.

                Good to see I'm not the only one getting disconnected from the servers. In the last hour I have been disconnected 6 times, every time it's weasel or caterpillar on Xbox One. I might just trade the game in today, haven't decided yet. I just really see no point in continuing to try to play a game that lacks a story, has multiple bugs, lacks any sort of exciting content, and constantly crashes.

                • Yo, 5-20 disconnects everyday played from launch to Jan. 19th. Mostly caterpillars but plenty others. Tried everything I heard about-nat settings, dns, static IP, hardwired, resets, cleared caches, UPnP, etc, etc-all useless. On the 19th (after a friend borrowed my system and Destiny and played at his place with zero disconnects) I called my ISP again. Talked to Tier 3 tech support. Dude immediately suggested my ISP provided router was probably choking my connection. He put it in [b]BRIDGE MODE[/b]. [i]Zero[/i] disconnects since then. A completely diffetent experience. I hope this helps people. Please spread the word.

                  • I'm so -blam!-ing frustrated with this shit. Last few days have been ridiculous. Codes I've never seen before. I spent over an hour yesterday just trying to get to the tower and vault gear for a swap. I wouldn't stop until I defeated Tower Hard Mode!

                  • Couldn't even start Destiny today without it telling me that stupid marionberry crap. Did everything it told me to do for it, nothing worked. Just got Destiny last week, so I'm seriously disappointed.

                  • Same thing happens to me every single day. It's so ridiculous. Not even five minutes of playing and I get kicked over and over again. It really is a pain in the ass. I would like to actually play the game without constantly getting pissed off about how many times I get kicked. Never had this problem with any other games before. It's stupid and BUNGIE needs to step it up. We didn't buy this game to not be able to play it.

                  • I tend to have these problems when I run wireless. 98% of the time I'm wired and I don't have any issues. Only issue I have is that I'm Nat type2 and I'm having problems talking to teammates. "No voice chat due to Nat issues".. And it jumps from different teammates.. Its never multiple mutes at once always one at a time. Any advice for that? Besides going into my modem and setting my Nat type to OPEN.. I shouldn't have to make changes to my modem for a game to allow me to chat freely

                      • I'm glad the -blam!-ing app works and I don't get kicked offline on this shit. If it weren't for the community.. (Not bungie because all they do is troll you with bullshit elementary worded error codes) I would have been snapped the disc in half or broken the xbone already. So thanks to the community for sticking together and giving some kind of hope. -blam!- YOU BUNGIE for you stupid -blam!-ing riddles and error codes. Pieces of thieving shits!                       • I can sign onto my character but after about 5 minutes of playing it takes me to orbit and says theres something wrong with my internet. Ounce i try and get back on another thing pops up saying i might not have online multiplayer access or my profile might have been signed in elsewhere, now im paranoid that my account has been hacked or something. IDK WTF TO DO!!!!

                          • Come on Bungie! Fix your god damn servers! I so sick of constantly getting kicked at the end of games and getting no rewards. And what's with the chain errors!? My team mate and I were trying to load into the tower and we were kicked back to orbit. Then I was kicked out of the fire team. THEN I was kicked back to the start menu. Instead of fixing all the stupid little exploits, fix the actual problems!!!
