Public Events and easy ascendant shards
Hey I'm Darc87, I'm online around 1-4 am central on the PS4.
If U didn't know yet, there is a nifty website for tracking public events in destiny.

Most of the events I've seen happen around -4 to -6, so allow for some time after the counter counts down.
There is a cap to the amount of ascendant material you can get, but this makes for easy quick farming.
