Vanquisher VIII > Vex mythoclaster
I decided to run some tests today while soloing the nightfall and my fully upgraded vanquisher VIII auto rifle was on average, in pve, only 2 points less damage than my vex mythoclaster (almost fully upgraded). With precision shots, the vex was on average only 4 points ahead.
Here is the funny part. My vanquisher has about 25% faster rate of fire, less recoil and better range. It also has twice the maximum ammo.
Absolutely ridiculous that a legendary auto rifle would outperform an exotic, much less the exotic that drops from the final boss of the current end game.

I don't have the Mytho, but I did get the VIII as a reward drop, and I must say this thing is a beauty. Mine has the Persistence perk so it stabilizes the longer I fire, and I just got the extended mag perk yesterday on it which double the ammo from 22 to 42 rounds per mag. As the OP points out, it's ROF is on par with the Shadow Price (thus faster than the Suros) and it's Impact is greater than the Atheon's Epilogue OR hotfixed VM. In my opinion it's the #2 Auto Rifle in the game behind the Suros Regime...but the rewarded version is way better than the one for sale, so who knows if you'll get it. If you do though...keep it. You'll be glad you did.

1 ReplySame with the Grim Citizen and Shadow Price, they're both far ahead of the Vex after the hotfix. Grim Citizen holds over 520 shots with the proper gear.

2 RepliesAny ar over vex now. I was usuing it today for the 1st time since the nerf and I have to say I'm disappointed. Yea it hits bodies for a lot less. Crits are a lot less. The "bullets" fire through air slower than ars or any gun for that matter, plus it's recoil isn't the greatest, and it's range with the recoil just makes it lack luster. Between the damage nerf and the somewhat poor accuracy and recoil your better off goin back to an ar or hand cannon. Yes it was extremely powerful pre nerf and I agree it should of been tinkered with some but the fact that it is a fusion rifle and made how it is(primary single bolt no charge) it should still be stronger than ars at close-med range. Might as well change the gun completely instead of it being a fusion rifle it should be changed to an ar since that's how it got scaled down to. But whatever it is what it is I guess.

I started playing around with a Bronzed Myamoto rare assault rifle. It's stats aren't all that impressive...but it's clip size is 68 rounds and my gear I carry 800 rounds of ammo. It is more efficient at killing PvE shields than my fully upgraded SUROS lol.

Legendary weapons are awesome too, just as powerful, just lacking the exotic flair and perks. I have the Vanquisher, very solid AR, but it's 22 round clip can be a pain. Don't get me wrong, I really like it, first time I shot it, I was like oh yeah!! : )

7 RepliesI picked up a Unwilling Soul. (yes i know the impact is minimal) I like it, 72 round clip w/ a psychotic rate of fire, but it doesn't quite pack enough punch! At least in crucible. It's a fun AR to play with & it's almost maxed. But now i'm after the Shadow Price!

2 RepliesVanquisher is a beast. was my first legendary and is still my best. I was beating the vex even before the nerf. They nerfed the vex way to much. 20% would have been good enough. They will realized it and pull a DICE and buff it back up a bit.
