How much should the shotguns be nerfed? Should they even be touched?
Any of the oldschool here might remember the shotgun in Halo 2 was useless if the enemy was 3 feet away. If I remember right it didn' t even do damage from 10 feet or so. All this shotgun nerfing was done because of the godlike Halo CE shotgun. Please don't let history reapeat itself here. I don't want this to happen to shotguns in pve and I'm divided about it in pvp.
I think it would be a good idea to have them do a damage reduction or .60% after 3 feet. Thats just a ruff nerf I can think of at the moment.

3 feet is a ridiculous idea. At that point a double melee would be your best option. The shotguns are perfectly fine as they are. The only gun that needs a buff in my opinion are pulse rifles.

Halo 1 shotguns were always so-so for me, they were always good at clearing carriers in campaign (they were a one shot at any range against those things, it was always odd), but I think the Halo Reach/Halo 4 shotguns are king.

I think the best thing to do here is buff our shields so shotties and fusion rifles can't one shot you.

IMO if they nerf the shotgun then they have to nerf snipers as well.

It sounds to me more like certain shotguns with extended range bonuses are really what's need to be toned down here.

It's the future, shotguns could have the range and accuracy of sniper rifles for all I care. Blame it on the Traveller or some shite.

You know they are going to change it, brats keep crying over everylittle thing they think is wrong in the game, and Bungie will "fix" it to there liking.

Guys it is a shotgun so hello if there is a shotgun in your face I don't care what level you are your dead
