Some good tips except for the BONUS part. There's physically no possible way of me achieving those speeds until our infrastructure is upgraded. I understand you are trying to help, but honestly if you think everybody has at least 15 mbps download and 3.5 mbps upload then you are going to be in for a surprise when playing with people from other countries. I'm on 10 mbps / 1024 kbps. Otherwise a great guide for optimising the PS4 :). I use Wifi because the router is only about 2m away from the PS4 and Ethernet would mean I would be tripping over it if I needed to get up for a second or two.

  • Yeah I wasnt aware how bad some other people have it, but my suggestions are still solid. Also I think Destiny is based on regions so being on the Eastern US I shouldnt encounter many bad connections hopefully

If you've got the bandwidth, optimise away because you can get your latency right down, but for me I can't optimise any more. Australia was going to get a new infrastructure and were building it and it was supposed to be ready, now it's delayed for months. Hopefully Bungie can put up an Oceania/Asia server as well, because the crucible was a nightmare with enemies able to kill me before I could even see them, it just looked like I saw them first. The same thing for years, co-op works fine because it's not as time intensive, but pvp is unplayable.

  • I know, blame our government for not doing enough to make sure our internet was upgraded quickly and efficiently.

  • The government? You can't be serious! Well, the way I see it.... You wouldn't do much about it anyway because the lag helps you get kills you normally wouldn't. People go out of there way to create lag with UDP flooders, lag switches, etc. So let's face it, if lag is a natural occurrence for you (because of the government lol), I'm sure you've learned to use it to your advantage as best you can....

  • No, that's a pretty legitimate complaint in many areas. Laying down lines for good internet is often an expensive and red-taped filled nightmare for ISPs. So unless you live in the right area upgrades aren't possible literally in part because of the local government.

  • Btw, I'd have speed as bad as yours if I didn't pay for 50 down and 5 up... just pay for better speed. And if it's not offered, maybe you just shouldn't do it. You're negatively effecting everyone's gameplay with a bad connection. Even in PvE, how do you expect to do a raid?

You are so incredibly ignorant. Who do you think pays for the lines to be upgraded?, it's certainly not the customers (a small portion from taxpayers maybe). I'm not sure if you understand how servers or infrastructure works together, otherwise you wouldn't say I'm negatively affecting everyone's game play. So because my government sucks (ask any Aussie atm) and can't upgrade our infrastructure, I just shouldn't bother?. I have just as much right to purchase and play Destiny as you do. Also, what planet are you living on where lag manipulation is a normal and acceptable gaming practice?. I want to play Destiny, and not have to worry about extraneous bs. I'm too old and jaded to take this kind of crap any more. If I had the option to upgrade, I would have already. Bungie is a US company so they would have servers in the US and Europe. Which means that you get the benefits of a faster connection, and I don't negatively affect your gameplay. Because I have to ping the servers in US and Europe, and because I have a much slower internet, I suffer while you get to enjoy almost lag free internet and I guarantee you I'm pinging at least 270ms, does that make even the slightest bit of sense to you?. How about you get off your high horse and stop telling people what to do especially when you can't string together a logical, thoughtful and constructive paragraph?. You used lag manipulation as your main argument, which honestly is reaching for straws, because it takes way more effort than it's worth to setup just so I can have a good score in PvP. Because that's the only reason I would use it, PvE doesn't matter as much because it's not time intensive, you connect to the server and fight AI alongside other players but I won't negatively affect gameplay, in fact the faster speeds of the US and Europe actually help me in PvE because when I lag badly, other players can kill AI that I'm not able to. Here's the part of one of my posts that you failed to comprehend, so I'm going to quote it for you to read over again, and don't bother replying unless you have something intelligent or constructive to say:
There's physically no possible way of me achieving those speeds until our infrastructure is upgraded.
And then:
Australia was going to get a new infrastructure and were building it and it was supposed to be ready, now it's delayed for months
I'm done now. My god.

  • You are gonna lag the Shit out of any room you play in, plain and simple. You'll most likely be playing out of your region, dinner all of Australia's internet is Shit as you you have stated. That being the case, your ping will be even worse than it is if you played in you're region, so yeah, you're gonna -blam!- up everyone's experience that's in your lobby... You make it sound like you've never played an online game with your terrible connection... I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about, which makes you the ignorant one
