Speculations Thread

This has been something on my mind for a while now; What if the game is really short? How many planets are there? What else would you like to bring up? Weird things you saw, etc

Found something interesting in another thread. One player checked his his inventory and found that he was missing a certain number of glass shards, but that that same number in motes of light were added to his inventory. I checked mime and it is the same thing. So my question is do you think we'll be able to convert materials into motes of light in the full game? Or is this just Bungie messing around with our game data? I have 3 motes of light now and a level 20 shader called Million Million. What differences did you guys notice? For those who don't know, motes of light are entities that can be exchanged for rare/exotic gear at merchants. They're earned after gaining experience post-level 20. Here's the post:

Any one else notice this, I was looking at my Guardian maybe for the last time and I noticed something new in my Inventory. I got 8 Motes of Light... how? I had 8 Glass Shards... makes sense. Update: It seems everyone's Glass Shards have turned into Motes of Light... why? Updated2: Some people even got random armour, weapons, and other goodies like armor or shaders and items.

• Since Bungie are planning to make Destiny a very long term experience, they will almost certainly add new content over time, whether it be additional story missions or new planets to go to. Plus, as was said before, there is a lot of replay value to the missions (I found myself playing a few repeatedly during the beta). Though when the game finally launches, I wouldn't mind seeing some surprise missions or events that we have had no previous knowledge of. I believe there was a recent interview of some Bungie employees and they mentioned "Night Strikes" or something like that. Overall though, I'm hyped for the full game :)

Judging solely from the beta, the story does seem like it will fly by quickly. However, I found myself not even caring about its briefness and enjoyed it anyway. IMO, even if the story is short, I don't think it'll be a problem. There's also a lot of replay value in them. (On a side note though, I think I read somewhere that there will be a significant amount of story missions.) In regards to the number of planets though, I'm pretty sure its just going be the ones we saw announced when it launches, but there's always the possibility of more being added in later, which I'm sure they'll consider. There's too much potential there not to. One thing I'm half-hoping they'll add though is ship battles. But I doubt they'll do it.
