Marvelous idea, but what does that mean in the bigger picture? or is it just symbolism?

Well, Master Chief and Cortana's is very similar in events to that of Ogier the Dane and his sword Curtana. Roland and Durendals tale I think was similar[I haven't read it in a while], so it could be a bit of a hunch that Joyuse might be some sort of weapon, or AI, or something left over from Charlamagne. All speculation built upon the relating symbolism, so take with some salt. XD
