Persistent centipede errors on sign on after being able to play without issue
[b]Update: If you have been blocked by recurring Centipede errors after having been able to play successfully (#3 below), we are applying a fix that will resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the solution will reset your characters. This is expected to happen over the next few hours. [/b]
WORKAROUND: To ensure that you no longer hit this issue, do not delete characters after using the vault in the tower.

We've been investigating the reports of centipede errors that have been popping up on the forums. There are a few ways you can hit centipede errors.
1. I have never connected and get centipede when I try to sign on
2. I randomly get centipede when I play
[b][u]3. I was able to play just fine, and all of a sudden I get centipede errors all the time and can't sign in[/u].[/b]
1 and 2 appear to be networking issues. This thread is concerned with [b]#3[/b].
#3 is an issue that we're tracking internally that I want to get more info about. Based on user reports and assistance, we identified a timing issue having to do with swapping quickly items between characters using the tower vault. We applied a fix and did some fixup of a number of affected users. However, not all affected users could be fixed up. So we're continuing to investigate solutions. We suspect there may be more ways to hit this error, and we need your help to find them.
If you were at some point able to play [b]after the maintenance period[/b], but then were blocked from signing on due to centipede errors, please reply to this post with the following:
1. Gamertag / Online ID of all affected profiles (send this to me in a PM if you're not comfortable posting this information publicly)
2. What was the last time you were able to properly sign in and play (date, time and time zone)
3. What was the last time you tried to sign in and got centipedes (date, time and time zone)
4. Had you used the account vault at all between being able to play and seeing persistent centipedes?
5. Have you deleted any characters between being able to play and seeing persistent centipedes?
6. if you had not done 4 or 5, please give as detailed an account of your play between when you last played, and when you started seeing centipede errors.

If you are really having to resort to wiping characters I really hope you plan on some kind of reimbursement because this is highly irritating.

After the hotfix I was kicked out, and could no longer access my character neither directly from the game not from the companion app. I created test characters with the other 2 available slots and these worked perfectly fine. But my main character just don't. It keeps sending centipede error.

1.Gamertag: L4DYXOUTSUPPORT (xbox one) 2. 9/25 around 5:30 pm EST 3. Ever since 9/25 5:30 pm EST 4. No 5. No 6. Kept on getting errors during gameplay and getting returned to main menu after the update. Was mainly on Earth. Eventually got a jackrabbit error, came back and it was centipede. All other gamertags on console can play, only mine is getting the error

Was playing "defete the devel walker" on earth got golden teir, just when you restarted the server, got kicked after that and the next day got centipede, still got centipede :(

#3. 1. PSN: LiteLeaf 2. Since roughly 6 pm EST September 25th. 3. 9 am EST, September 26th 4. I had used the vault earlier in the day to withdraw items and come to think of it. Right before the issue i deposited an item (no withdrawl) 5. No character deletion whatsoever 6. Just as a general more info: I was kicked from the game shortly after returning to the cosmodrone and was returned to orbit suffering a rollback to my character's EXP (I had just leveled up and was returned to about 95% on the previous level). Cosmodrone seemed to work just fine afterwards. Following hitting level 8 I started to attempt a mission (kill Raksis for Queen's Bounty) and was then kicked within 3 minutes of the mission starting. After disconnecting completely my entire Bnet profile would not load nor could i reconnect to the game. Sometimes my profile is view-able to others (Takes some refreshing), but if i am trying to view it while logged in I receive an error that it was unable to be loaded (consistently). To the best of my knowledge I had just used the vault in the tower to deposit an ascendant shard before going to the cosmodrone and receiving a rollback. This series of events is what my best guess at what caused my issue.

1. Pristinebeau18, Xbox 360/xbox one 2. 9-25-14 about 4pm mst with the usual amount of error codes 3. 9-26-14 about 10 minutes ago so 11:30 am mst. Started getting this problem about 11pm last night though 4. I have not used the vault in about a week or so 5. I have not erased any accounts ever 6. I was playing with two buddies. We stared by doing a queen mission for one friend (only he got a reward). Next we played a couple games of skirmish (I think I got "bee" error a couple times. And we finished the session trying to complete a lvl 26 raid for my friends exotic bounty. I stopped playing because other error codes started coming very frequently. Tried logging in later that night and I get centipede error at start up. One more thing, this only effects my main lvl 27 hunter account. I can play normally on my lvl 2 Titan account. Again, I've transfered nothibg between these profiles

1. aDeadSkinMask GT and OID 2. Got booted at around 1800 Eastern yesterday. (sept 25) 3. 1344 Eastern Sept 26. (<5 minutes ago) 4. No. Haven't been able to connect at all. 5. No. I did delete a titan a week or so ago. 6. I finished a strike and received a purple chest engram and a blue heavy weapon engram. Decoded them both and upped my Cryptarch level. Got the package from the mail and decrypted the two blue special weapon engrams. Got Centipede. Logged back in to see the original two engrams in my inventory. Decoded them and got the same chest and I think the same heavy. Back to the mail, two special weapon engrams. Decoded into what I think were the same two guns again. Hopped into the crucible for a little skirmish. Was actually winning a match (LoL) and got Centipede. Been unable to log in since. Also cannot see my characters on Bungie.net if I am logged in. If I don't log in or if anyone else looks at my profile they are there just as I left them. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

9-26-14 Throughout the day. I was able to complete 5 bounties and complete all he story missions from Ishatar Collective to the 2nd one on Mars. I also leveled up my Sunsinger from Arcane Spirit to Angel of Light in this time period. Not to mention at least 30 Vanguard marks. And it's ALL gone. 9-27-14 1pm EST Just read this after posting about my non-saved progress. Looks I'm not playing this game for awhile. So my 5 hours of playing yesterday was literally a waste of time since I lost everything. What am I supposed to do about this Bungie? And you still haven't fixed the connection issues of my best friend either.

I was just playing a lot of crucible control, and a little skirmish, I went to the tower for crypt arch, was playing my hunter blade dancer lv. 24, i went to tower and turned in a couple crucible bounties and checked my mail where I had a lot of engrams from public events on earth, I went and identified them at crypt arch and was kicked off but was able to log back in and went back to the tower and realized it was now showing none had been identified, so I identified them again but it did not kick me off then I logged out and went to work.

1. modernevil (5490614) 2. umm... 9/25/14, at around ... 3PM MST/PDT I got kicked offline, but was about done, so didn't try to log in again until ~10PM, which is when I first saw the centipede error 3. Now. 9/26/14, 9:38AM MST/PDT —but since I can't access my profile here on the bungie site (it just says "Unable to load Destiny account. Please try again later." when I try to look at my profile/characters) I know it isn't a network problem; my character is corrupted. (Also, I just logged into my wife's PSN & had no trouble logging in from the same PS3—not a network problem.) 4. I [i]did[/i] use the vault for the first time yesterday, though it wan't immediately prior to getting kicked offline. I only have one character, so far, so I wasn't moving things between characters, just freeing slots—the only things I put in the vault were Emblems. 5. I have only ever had the one character since launch (I did play in the Beta), and have not deleted it. 6. I don't know. Uhh... Half a dozen Crucible matches, half a dozen Venus patrols, and a couple missions on Earth (to get the queen's bounty for killing that Archon); I think I grabbed the wrong Earth mission at first, and left it half-finished. I reached lvl20 during the Crucible matches. Also, like I said, I stored some Emblems in the vault. Hopefully this will not completely reset my character—though my hopes are not high, considering I cannot access her info from the site or app.

No 6. was playing fine with no errors or issues until the update on the 25th, after update was disconnected from fireteam and returned to main menu. now every time I log in I get the centipede network error message after pressing A button on title screen. Just read the part about character reset. This is unacceptable spent 100+ hours on my character and am lvl 29 with full legendary & exotic gear 46 strange coins. if you reset my character I am selling this game.

Tag: M J Cab0se Time last signed in : 9/25/14 4:00-4:30 pm cmt I was at tower and identified engrams and received class item for hunter( only character) I was then booted from the game and unable to log in for 10 min. When I was able to log in again I saw that the engrams I just identified was now un-identified. I identified it again then headed to earth and after no more then 5 min was disconnected with centipede error and have not been able to log in again after that. Most recent attempt at log in 10:20am cmt.

3 RepliesOn a seperate note, will we be getting compensation for the gear/levels we've lost? ive put a significant amount of time into my character and have started social groups with like minded people, erasing all of this will destroy any chance of me playing through all that again. I can tell you exactly what gear and level i had even screen shot my character wearing it all.

Yes, a low lvl (2) Warlock, it was like 48-72hours back from the time I was logged in the last time. 6. The last I remember I was in tower (around the time #2) with a friend in fireteam, returned from Daily mission (or bounty) and was purchasing an emblem from the Speaker for Mote of LIght. Then got disconnected. So I logged in again, went to the speaker again to purchase the emblem and then it kicked me again -> didn't try it again - went offline. Next day around 11:00 AM GMT+1 tried to log in to see what new Xur is selling -> couldn't get in #centipede error all the time.
