Still a slave to the Centipede
Hey hey everyone! The beta is back up early, and guess what!?!
The Centipede strikes again!
I'm sure people are tired of seeing me post this over and over and over and over. But, I am still down and have been since launch night 7/17 at 8pm EST.
Bungie... people... is there honestly a potential fix? I sure would like to play at least on the 26th to enjoy the same benefits that everyone else will receive on their account on 9/9.

Bungie, if you can't fix all these errors in the beta, let us know. So we won't have to try testing it for you anymore, yeah? No words on centipede, no words on bee, no words on canary...no nothing.

He also haunts my nightmares. 7/24 9:30am EST was my last attempt... NAT type 1, no router. I have deleted the entire install a few times over the past few days and reinstalled again, all to failed results. Can you wipe my character from your servers? Let me start fresh? I'm a psychologist, not an IT guy, but I've read many MANY posts from people who are having the same issue. It appears that our data was corrupted when using the vault. They say others can log into the game on the same PS4. I'm more than willing to give this a shot. Anyhow, that's my morning rant and a proposed solution in attempting to rectify the situation.

4 RepliesGood afternoon Bungie! I just got home from work and thought I'd try my daily log-in to Destiny. No need for a drum roll, as that would by highly anticlimactic. My favorite error code was there waiting for me with open arms as usual. I've seen more centipedes than an entomologist! Any news? Any hope? Any word of any kind you can give me?... us on this thread?... the multitudes of others afflicted with the same error? I know you're tired of reading my excerpts; hell, I'm tired of writing them. Even a simple, "No. You're never going to play the beta again!", would be preferable to sitting in Limbo.

As we all know, beta is beta and there are bound to be problems. I've been hit with the centipede's hammer of denial as well, here's hoping that they can iron out the problem by the 26th. Or at the very least release. Also, on my end at least, I am positive that it's not a network error. I can log into others' psn accounts on my ps4 and enter the beta without issue. I believe that its a case of the vault bug that others have experienced. Hope that helps anyone.

1 ReplyWhat seems to be the cause of the Centipede Error for most people was when they used the Vault in the Tower to transfer items to their other character(s). After using the Vault, many players would get the Centipede Error when logging back in. Because of the Centipede Error players are not able to see their character(s) on their profile on Bungie.net or on the Mobile App. The weird thing is that when you are logged out of your account or viewing from another person's account, you can see your character(s). That means your character(s) is/are still there somewhere but for some odd reason you cannot view them or even play the Beta.

Still have centipede error preventing play since day 2 of the ps4 start date. Even after the supposed fix during the maintenance days. Keep working on it, I want to be on by the 26th. I hope and pray I'm not still affected on actual release day.

It's not a network issue on my end because the 3 other people in my household can still connect to the game no problem. So, what is the deal? We can guess that they are working on it bc they aren't replying lol?

So far I have had cattle and centipede. This game was so much fun when I could play it, but I can't anymore. ;( fix your game's errors bungie!

Still having this same centipede problem as well after the update. Played the first 2 days of the beta fine and was enjoying it, then when the time came to log in for the event last saturday the centipede struck. I really do hope this gets fixed so we can at least get in for the event this weekend to get the beta emblem, was looking forward to having it. If not I hope dearly this is fixed when the game actually hits as my copy and beta code are a birthday present from a friend, and if this continues to not let me even log in to the game then I'll be expecting to have a nice Destiny brand drink coaster come September.

Update: Got past centipede and was able to create characters, but after the little video I now get the error code coconut...

So far I've had a centipede, baboon and vulture. I've been able to play for 30 minutes before the error lock down.....very sad

I haven't been able to play the beta at all myself because of the Centipede error on both PS4 and XB1. I do not have access to my internet port settings due to having internet that is provided by my apartment complex. They must be using a firewall or port blocker to keep the tenants from torrenting that also blocks peer-to-peer sharing games like Destiny. I hope Bungie finds a solution for us when the game launches on 9/9.

Yup. Still getting the centipede error. It's as though nothing's changed after the update. Can't log on, phone ap still doesn't say I have characters. No email received like some people. That centipede must really hate me, just one day of play before it stamped on me for good.

I am too stuck in the state of the Centipede error. Ive only been able to play two days of the beta and now I cant even log in. what the heck? even after the big offline thing they did for two days, I am still not able to get on... this sucks, I didn't get the game to be logged out the whole time. Please, someone do something about this.

Everything that has happened to you has occurred with me as well. Definitely not alone on that one. It's like I got invited to a massive pre-party and centipede is this malevolent force preventing me from starting my car to get there.

Its the same on my end. I have never gotten into this game, not in Alpha or the Beta. Its always the same error: Centipede. Would be nice if they actually checked this message board, or just fix the problem. However, this late in the game, I cannot see it getting fixed.

Centipede 4 lyfe. I hope they at the very least they give the people who can't log in some of the Saturday goodies otherwise it's just bad form on their part.
