We've played through just about every type of environment there is in video games. However, which do you enjoy playing on the most and intrigues you the most?
I enjoy playing in cities and deserts. I don't know exactly why but I just do.
I hate playing in rainy/snowy environments because everything just feels slow and sluggish.

-Unique and interesting alien worlds/space stations brimming with life (Like the Citadel in the Mass Effect trilogy) -Ancient and mysterious alien worlds/facilities (Like Installation 04 in Halo: Combat Evolved) -Regions in the Pokemon World -Immense post-apocalyptic environments (Like Chernarus in DayZ).

Metro's environments are some of my all time favorites. Last Light nailed it. Other games such as Warframe and Hawken get the grittyness right.

Edited by Ryouji Gunblade: 5/21/2014 9:41:32 PMPretty much every Halo PC map. Large, symmetrical environments with some close quarter areas are ideal.
-
Forests (for ambushes), arctic tundras in snowstorms (for ambushes), Deserts ( really open and can't get hit from behind easy), Most favourite is building to building close quarters room to room fighting.

Forest

Rapture from Bioshock Tau Volantis from Dead Space 3 High Charity from Halo 2 New Mombasa from ODST

Space Dark cities (like ODST) And if done right--- snow. I can't stand desert or bright as BLAM daytime missions.
-
Snow and space.
-
Sewers. It's where things get stanky.

Areas like massive cities in gears of war are what I've loved best. Full of badassery and gun fire. Blare some Disturbed and its game on!
-
Cityfighting <3 I love it in RTS games, I love in it FPS games.

Edited by Alphy : 5/21/2014 5:18:20 AMUrban areas. Prefer enclosed maps over open maps. So, for example, I like Hang 'Em High over Halo 4's Complex, in terms of environment and stuff. Yeah, those maps aren't exact urban, but you know what I mean, right?

Rainy, tropical, desert, forest.

Edited by Amnesia: 5/21/2014 4:51:42 AMFantasy environments, such as those above the clouds or in ridiculously beautiful places. I can think of one example, which would be the Titanfall map (I never know their names) with the large mac-cannonlike weapon aimed at an enemy ship. If you look in the background, you'll notice that the platform is above the clouds. I think that's pretty awesome. I also liked Blackreach, along with every other Dwemer construct across Skyrim and Morrowind. Ayleid structures were neat, but not as great.

Rainy. Especially if it has an aesthetic effect on the player, I love how rain in Drangleic Castle makes the players armor darker.

Churches

Gotta go with desserts, the freedom of vehicles in places like this is inmense
