Definition of elitism:
Elitism is the belief or attitude that some individuals, who form an elite—a select group of people with a certain ancestry, intrinsic quality or worth, higher intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes—are those whose influence or authority is greater than that of others; whose views on a matter are to be taken the most seriously or carry the most weight; whose views or actions are most likely to be constructive to society as a whole; or whose extraordinary skills, abilities, or wisdom render them especially fit to govern.
Starting to feel that for me, I've found more elitism in the PC environment from players of Final Fantasy XIV than CoD or anything else so far. I don't need to take up anyone's time with a rant so just stick with what you would like to say in regards to the topic yourself.
Found this funny image of one of the large group dungeons, it's been made into a Bingo board for when things don't go well during it.

PC fanboys /thread

The PC gaming community is by far the worst I've seen in that aspect.
-
PC gamers usually come to mind. "Muh graphics" "Muh Steam sales" "Muh indie games" Albeit there are a few indie games I enjoy playing, key word FEW, and enjoy saving money on steam sales, I'm not running around mocking other users for playing on their console of choice. That's like making fun of someone for wearing Nike shoes because you prefer wearing Jordan's. You look like an idiot.
-
PC gamers like to get into conversations that have nothing to do with them to comment how much better they think PC is than consoles.
-
Every competitive multiplayer gaming community has massive amounts of elitism.
-
The street fighter community has the most ridiculous amounts of elitism I've ever encountered. If you beat someone who, in their minds, are superior to you, they have a complete meltdown and start insulting you and downplaying everything you do. PC gamers in general have this pathetic inferiority complex, which causes them to have a fake sense of elitism. Ironically, this complex, is what actually makes them inferior in the first place.

PC Elitism is rampant on the internet, Arma fanboys are pretty insufferable as well. When you get the two combined in the same person... lawd ha murceh.

lol at the Halo comments, Halo's community is like a damn day care center compared to others.

Dark Souls. I love the game, but the community is so largely up its own arsehole that it has actually made me disillusioned with the series somewhat, and I didn't even think that was possible.
-
Even though it makes incredible content, the Dark Souls community just -blam!-ing reeks of it.

Edited by FairlySplendid: 2/24/2014 3:46:24 PMThe obvious ones I come across the most often is Halo elitists and Halo classists. There are even a few out there I would peg as Halo "hipsters". Then again, I also spend a lot of time on Bungie related forums. Fundamentally, there is nothing wrong with liking a particular franchise or a particular game within that franchise, but there are some within the Halo community that take it too far. They don't realize how their obsession with something so SPECIFIC and so many years removed from today is polarizing. It doesn't bring people in, it forces people out. Gives other Halo fans a bad name. I guarantee you that if H2A gets released you'll end up having a niche group of gamers who will go in and never come out, like the Bermuda Triangle. Maybe that's MS's plan. H2A a trap. Metaphoric flypaper for old-school Halo gamers.
