I actually had no idea it was coming out so soon... I thought it would be a next-gen release.

I was surprised by the latest releases. Maybe not that much, because BO2 release was kind of similar, but still. Normally Call of Duty is all that's talked about, but I barely heard anything when it released, maybe one person in my second period class reminded me. It seems BF4 has been received a lot better then Ghosts. Call of Duty (also BF and Halo) don't have the same hype anyone, everyone likes it for 2 months then moves on... COD on PC is crap from the videos I've seen. Looks like they put no effort into it.

I honestly really like this one. It's the first time I'm genuinely interested to see what happens next

It's out? Damn, no Xbox LIVE connection for a month has completely stopped me knowing when games I don't care about come out. Shame I was connected when H3 was free and when GTA came out.

The multiplayer is different. It's much easier to lose gun fights, perks really can make the difference between a kill and a respawn. The maps are also much different, they're [b]very[/b] open, and decently large. This would be great for snipers except every weapon in the game has incredible range and stopping power. And the location they placed objectives in gametypes is a little weird and messes with spawns a bit. Also the SATCOM kill streak is bullshit, they should've kept UAV.

This is more of a PC gamer rant. CoD seems otherwise very CoD. Just the same old stuff. I'll borrow the game from a friend for the campaign and see if it's any good. I expect the MM to N be the same.

I've already got it for the PS4. Saw my buddy play it tonight and now I can't wait to play. Is it shockingly innovative? No. Does it have awe inspiring graphics? No. Is it a series changer? No. But for people who enjoy playing call of duty, we already know that all we're getting is new weapons, new maps, new modes, and minor gameplay changes. Most of the people that are hardcore into cod don't want major changes, just enough to make it fresh.

Its a decent AAA game, its not impressive but its still fun to play (from what ive played so far). Usually i find a multiplayer game fun to play and then despise it after two months.

The last CoD I liked was CoD WaW hated every game after that but Ghost I am actually enjoying.

First off, don't ever try to use the user score from Metacritic to make a point. We all know that is nothing raging internet idiots releasing their pent up anger. Most of the people raging about how bad Call of Duty is have never played a truly bad game in their life. Go play Ride to Hell: Retribution and then tell me how Call of Duty is such a terrible game. Now that that's out of the way... I haven't purchased a Call of Duty game since the original Black Ops. That being said- from what I can tell there are two camps people typically fall under when discussing CoD: 1) The game at its core still has the same solid, tight, fast gameplay that fans have enjoyed since Call of Duty 4 six years ago. True, it doesn't have the most stunning graphics and they don't always take a lot of risks from iteration to iteration, but that core experience is still very well done and makes it a quality title. These are generally the type of people who find games fun even if they don't turn a genre on its head. 2) The core gameplay is still solid, yes, but it is gameplay that has only been slightly refined over multiple games. The very core of the game- the tight controls, the fast action, the solid shooting mechanics- has been around for 6 years now and should be seen not necessarily as a boon to the game, but as the bare minimum standard. With that in mind, it takes more to make the title compelling than just a few tweaks on an existing though admittedly solid formula. These people typically look for newer, never-before-seen experiences and accept nothing less. Neither way of thinking is wrong. I find myself to fall in the middle. If I got the chance to play Ghosts somewhere and still find it as fun as I found Modern Warfare 1 or 2, I would seriously consider buying it. Until then I'm indifferent towards it because I know Infinity Ward hasn't taken many risks or done all that much to improve the series- at least, not as much as Treyarch has. Now as for those scores... I'm not at all surprised. Some people want more innovation out of a new title. Others are okay as long as it's still fun. Clearly the Destructoid reviewer felt the former of Ghosts while IGN's reviewer felt teh latter. Surprise! People have different opinions. Also, the Metacritic page has 23 of 39 reviews in the range of 8, and the next most populous score are in the 7 range. I don't know how those are "bad" scores.

I think the verdict is that its mediocre. Ok. Run of the mill. Not that it sucks. Seriously dude stop it with the over sensationalized forum titles.

Metacritic user scores are a joke anyway. The majority probably haven't even played it.

It's horribly unoptimized for the PC. I got it, I had fun. But I haven't played CoD in a while. It's the same CoD I used to enjoy. They didn't do anything particularly bad with the game, they just didn't do anything new or innovative. Same game, whether you enjoy it is up to you. But like TB said, "Where does CoD go from here?". I really can't imagine CoD being any different, which obviously isn't a good thing but that's just a sign that they should stop making it for a while. It's also interesting CoD was so innovative and revolutionary when it first came out, but they haven't innovated since. You would think that the people who thought up the ideas for CoD4 would have come up with something new by then.
