Codes on Destiny Collector's Cards

By now everyone with a beta key code's probably realized the 9-digit key codes on the Destiny Collector's Cards #1-#5 can be entered on b.net's code redemption page, accessible through our user profile page (click on "redeemed codes" tab and follow link under image on right of page).
There have been a total of 5 collector's cards released thus far, AFAIK: #1-#3 are Guardian: Warlock through Titan, respectively; #4 is Fallen: Rixis, Archon Slayer (Gold emboss) and #5 is Destination: Old Russia.
Questions: What sort of things do you figure the card key codes will give users? When you redeem the codes, in the Details column you simply see "Check back in 2014 to see what you’ve unlocked!" So it's anyone's guess... Will it be digital stuff specific to bungie.net only, or in-game only, or both? Is this also a test run for unlocking stuff, are Bungie going to unlock anything for the beta, to make sure that function of the code redemption works as intended on all platforms? Beyond the hints I've shared I can't really speculate on what they're planning, but I'm interested to hear/discuss predictions. If these cards are going to be a continued thing, to be included with various physical/digital IRL stuff for sale (standard and collector's editions of game, expansions and dlc, then they're going to be potential plot spoilers for the game. Helpful people will find and consolidate pics of all the codes and keep them in one place for all of us to find later and use, but they're one more potential leak for plot details intentionally or otherwise. Around launch, I'd avoid tracking down too much info about all the collector's cards available or the codes on them until you've played through the game just to be safe.

It may be as simple as a comprehensive release schedule, assuming that the collector's cards are, in fact, a "thing".
