With the future of next-gen console online gaming clearly being linked to better/faster/more servers, and given Sony's troubled past with theirs, I'm concerned that gaming performance on the PS4 may suffer despite it *perhaps* being the better next-gen gaming console on paper (and in a vacuum). Currently I own a 360, but I would gladly make the switch to PS if the console and its servers would ensure a better overall gaming experience. I don't honestly care about all of the other admittedly great stuff the XBO does; I already have a smartphone for that.
IMHO, what we know about the consoles so far is that they are essentially so similar to one another that the online flamewar is analogous to the Coke vs. Pepsi flavor challenge of the 1980's from which all we really learned is that people *really* like artificially-flavored bubbly sugar water. What I think will matter most to online multiplayer gamers is the servers.
The question for today: which console do you think will have better *gaming* servers? I understand that M$ have stated they will have ~300k servers, yet they haven't stated whether these servers will be preferentially linked to gaming (or as is more likely, to their console's other functions given the focus of the recent XBO reveal).
Is there any server data available for he PS4?

*gaming* servers as in the things used to run multiplayer? If that's the case, both are still going to primarily use P2P in order to have people play together, and with the ones that do use dedicated servers, its not going to be much different that what we have today. I don't see anything changing. The 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,001 servers MS has are probably going to be used more for content than actual dedicated servers for developers to use.

My guess is that the major ryse in server count is because of Microsoft's utilization of the cloud. Will gaming connections improve because of it? Certainly.

'xbo' is such an unfortunate and exploitable acronym...
