"Kinect does require to be connected to Xbox One in all cases, yes," he said. Asked whether the Xbox One will accommodate people who perhaps play in their bedroom rather than their living room, Eagle replied: "Yes, absolutely. We use the living room almost as a moniker - that's where we assume the best screen is in the house. But if you like to play in any other room in the house, the Xbox One will deliver the same quality of experience whatever the environment."
I don't have my Xbox in my living room.
I have it at my desk next to my PC and it's connected to my 22" monitor.
I sit in a chair two feet from the screen, not on a couch 15 feet from the screen.
So dear Microsoft:
Why the fuck would i want a bulky camera on my desk that I won't even use?
How would that give me a "better experience"?
Yeah yeah, voice commands and all that but why not just build that in the console?
-
Why the f*ck not? Their hardware already matches/exceeds the competition, they've got the Cloud (which has the potential to be revolutionary, especially for MMOs and games like Destiny where the world is constantly updating), supposedly "lag free" 64-128 player matches, and apparently 15 exclusives they're going to show off at E3. Getting something more at the same price shouldn't be any problem at all. If the Kinect really bothers you, why not just plug it in and stuff it in a closet or something?
-
Am I seriously the only one here who's pissed of because this?
-
I don't give a shit as long as the games don't all force you to use it.
-
Bitch, Wine, Moan & Complain. That's all we'll be seeing for the next few weeks folks.
-
Kinect is a cheap Gimmick that should have died
-
Quit being retarded and plug it in and hide it somewhere. You people will seriously cry about everything.
-
I admit, it's kinda annoying, but it's not the end of the world.
-
You can play it from your desk and use your controller to navigate, the kinect only needs to be connected to the console. Nothing else.
-
i dont see how that works... i think you're misunderstanding this OP
-
yeah I'd connect it then turn it towards a wall. I don't want some camera on me.
-
It needs to be connected. No one said it had to be used.

Edited by Closed Account: 5/21/2013 9:02:49 PMThen don't buy the Xbox. It's that simple.
-
I don't care as long as the games i play don't require motion controls.
-
It is a better experience for hard core gamers. Think of the extra controller options we will have (Confirmed/implied during the event) . Shift your controller to the side or tilt it to the side for an action such as side dodge or tilt slightly from cover. How about a shift down, making your character duck? Shift forward, a leap or gesture such as middle finger. ect.... Kinect has alot of potential. No need to blindly hate it.

Kinect 2.0 isn't terrible, it was a new project in the begging and now they're working it to "perfection"
-
My setup is the same as your's but I'm not mad about having the kinect. I probably won't use it as much as I should but I'm not mad over it.
