There was a reason they were banned in the first place. And if you look at the first couple of posts on The Flood, it wasn't always banned.

  • That reason doesn't exist anymore - as the person who created the rule, I would know.

  • What was the reason? I was under the impression it was to help keep the site somewhat professional since it represents the company.

  • The reason was that the moderators and users lacked to tools to keep things from going insane (i.e., the moderators would be ask to moderate politics and religion as if they had no religion or political views of their own). That problem does not exist, because everybody can moderate their own view now. And if everyone does this, the global system will tend to globally ignore posts for those creating the worse threads.
