Will the PS4 version be just a simple build port ala FF XI for 360, or is it actually gonna feature graphics and/or gameplay that takes advantage of the more powerful hardware over PS3/360?

Edited by Mendicant Pax: 3/4/2013 3:33:50 AMBungie has already confirmed that they've built an engine that is easily scalable based around the desires of next generation technology. And given that, I would assume it will be properly scaled to take advantage of as much of the PS4's power as possible. It is a far more powerful console than what we have now, and I would assume Destiny is being constructed with next gen in mind, and then being scaled back for the current. Beyond that, it'll be the exact same game.

While Bungie hasn't really said anything, I get the impression that the gameplay itself will be almost completely the same on each platform. I'd be surprised if they didn't take advantage of the more advanced platforms in other ways though, at least to make them run smoother if nothing else.

Most game engines are highly scalable, therefore I can't imagine Bungie is going with just a single set of renders for Destiny. The entire game will most likely be rendered to run smoothly at the maximum render detail for each given platform.

I'd assume that the PS4/720 versions of the game will be optimized to run on each console.
