My main issue with this is x86 applications being emulated on ARM. x86 is just ridiculously complex and inefficient compared to ARM.

Microsoft really does not like Wine, but chances are hasn't really bothered too much with it because Linux is such a small fragment of the PC market - official stats put Linux at use on 2% of computers and the amount with Wine is probably considerably less than even that. However, you can best believe Microsoft would take out the lawsuit hammer if this was released after all the money they are investing into the phone/tablet space to try and get a foothold in that new market.

Good god, running full Windows programs on the limited hardware of even the best Android handheld will be deeply painful.

all I want to know is why well, XCOM on a phone. Okay, there's that.

And they'll be laggy as shit, of course.

Running x86 Windows application on Android? Windows RT can't even do that. Microsoft, you're stupid.

Cool innovation, but I can't think of any Windows apps that don't have mobile-optimized counterpart already available.
