Rise of Sin (Chapter 3: Ally of Enemy [Part 2])

Rise of Sin Chapter 3: Ally of Enemy [Part 2] “Jade, get your ass up now!” Jasper shouted, firing off round after round within his magazine into the windows of the third floor; the level in which he believed he saw the shots come flying out that aimed for his brother. His shells could be seen bouncing back out through the walls, as the ricochet rounds from his Hard Light bounced aimlessly around the building till it either lost momentum or found a target to get stuck in. He had to reload, quickly taking refuge behind a tree to do so, tossing his empty click to the ground in a fit of anger as he quickly placed in the new magazine though before he could aim towards the building his line of sights quickly changed to being pointed in the direction of his brother. Though it could not be seen behind his mask he had a bewildered look to his facial structure as he watched a figure standing before the squirming figure of his brother; but it did not look to be neither Fallen nor Vex. Its body did not appear to be bony and bone white as the Hive Thrall either, no. It looked like a Guardian; a robe adorned about its upper body, its helmet appearing to be nothing more than a vacant void of darkness as the Guardian looked down to his brother. Clutching his weapon now even tighter as he believed the safety of his brother was now in even more danger; his life he believed to be hanging in the distance. He yelled towards the Guardian that loomed maliciously over his squirming form, his anger filling each syllable, “Get the -blam!- away from him!” His voice didn’t go unheard, this he knew as he could’ve sworn he saw the helmet of the Guardian look up to see his form only once before he witnessed the figure raising its right palm before its chest. Jasper’s eyes grew wider as he thought he knew what was to come; tossing his weapon to the ground, completely ignoring the location in which he had thrown it as it currently did not matter. The loud noise of a bell ringing throughout the area as his form was engulfed within molten heat and fire as a Hammer manifested within his right palm and he shouted another time to his brothers anguished body, “Jade get up now!” He shouted and screamed however his words proved to go unheard from him, and his reaction time to using his light to manifest his Hammer of Sol was too as he witnessed the palm of the Guardian thrust downwards to his brothers own helmet. He heard the smack of the palm against the helmet and saw his brother’s chest lurch upwards as his helmet was struck before his body ceased movement. Jasper was left speechless, his eyes opened wide to limits he didn’t think he could do himself. He snapped, yes, but not back to his senses. His since of meaning is what had snapped, his sense of self lost as he allowed himself to become engulfed from his own anger. The Guardian that had dealt the finishing blow to his brother did nothing man than watch him, and that infuriated him. The Guardian so casual standing over his brothers unmoving body, so casually looking at him, so casually fearless; the Guardian was a monster. Jasper cocked his arm now, his teeth tightly clenched shut before he force them open and released an ear piercing cry though would’ve scared off any wildly nearby, a cry of anger, a cry of pain, a cry of determination, a cry of bloodlust. The Hammer sailed through the sky, its flames brilliantly bright and strongly lit: it exploded. The Hammer never made it to its destination. He had thrown it, yes, but it went off course and exploded within the air. He had been a fool, he had been so blind. The building, he had completely left it alone, forgetting about the person that had sent shots out from the windows. He had been blinded by his anger, blinded by the fact that he had been outsmarted, blinded that he had failed his brother; blinded by pride. It wasn’t a gun shot that had thrown his arm off course and force the Hammer to go sailing and only to explode through the air, no. He felt the piercing sharp pain of something metallic in his shoulder as he now crumbled to his knees from shock and bewilderment. The molten flames that had last engulfed his flames having quickly dispersed as he couldn’t control it any longer; he had lost focus. He craned his head to turn behind him noticing the knife that had so cleanly pierced through his armour from his shoulder blade. He would’ve been amazed, awestruck, if the first thing that crossed his mind wasn’t the fact that the blade that so preciously pierced his armour could’ve only been thrown by a skilled Hunter. He was right too, as he now saw the looming figure of a Hunter positioned in a tree only a meters behind him, quietly watching him before jumping out of the tree and landing onto the ground with an all too quiet thud. The Hunter stalked towards him silently now, quietly holding within his/her hands a Pistol; a pistol? It looked like some sort of magnum, a revolver even. He didn’t have time to think about what weapon it actually was as he needed to act or he’d fall just like his brother had; turning his head to face the Guardian that now approached him from the front as well. He had only just gotten one foot planted firmly to the ground as he was about to push himself up to find his gun that he so foolishly had tossed before he heard a shot now, only a single one. The bullet hadn’t come from in front of him, no, it had come from behind. He lurched forward now, his body twisting from the force of the single bullet that had pierced his same shoulder that held the bullet. He could’ve sworn that the bullet had just barely touched the knife but he felt it digging in deeper into his shoulder blade. As his body twisted to face the direction of that he was shot unexpectedly from he saw the Hunter had regained position back into the tree, his/hers weapon in hand: Stillpiercer. Why’d he/she go back into the tree? Was it to mock him? Was it to get a better angle? Was it just to piss him off? It didn’t matter now as he watched the Hunter drop to the ground and out of his line of sight and he finished his three-sixty spin and landed flat first onto his face. He only knew one Guardian that wielded that weapon, only that that could shoot so cleanly that it would’ve struck the blade to dig deeper, only a single name popped into his head: Crow He didn’t have any time to be pissed though, all his thoughts that swam through his mind, all his anger that filled him, the rage that wanted to be released, none of it mattered. He didn’t hear anyone approach him but he heard the quick thud of something hitting his helmet with such force that he himself became swallowed in darkness. His fate was now sealed. Within this darkness he felt no pain, no anger, no thoughts, no emotions, no misery, no rage. Within this moment, for however long it lasted be it only momentary or forever he could find not even a will to fight. With no will, he had no purpose, with no purpose, he had no meaning, without no meaning he was nothing. He dropped into the darkness as its pitch blackness engulfed him so welcoming, so effortlessly, so openly, so reassuring. __ Part 2 was slightly too big for Bungie to hold so the Link provided below will redirect you to the next Forum Topic that will have the ending of this Chapter.
