I just can't deal with 3v3 modes any more as every game is met by 3 scarab emblem try hards using 1k yard, last word, party crasher. Don't bother telling me to just not play them, I am trying to get the grimoire, but what happened to casual PvP in destiny? It just doesn't seem to exist any more.
Edit: damn this topic got bigger than I thought it would. TRENDING

Edited by Meras: 2/12/2016 4:04:17 AMI can agree with this. Just played a game of regular elimination and was matched up against three sweaty tryhards with all year one weapons. They obviously thought they were playing trials with how tryhard they were going. Smh, I remember the days the crucible was actually fun

Edited by Adam: 2/10/2016 6:43:26 AMI just wish I could play the game and actually have fun like I could in year 1, because at the minute I can't. Whatever game mode I play, I'm matched against sweaty players on different continents with 2.5+ K/Ds. Since I'm in the UK, it seems like it never wants me to play anyone who is even remotely close to me. I play more Saudi Arabians than UK players. So what does that mean? A few things: 1) It's always laggy. 2) Every game is a complete sweatfest where you either use every dirty, broken tactic, or lose. 3) I'm forced into using broken guns because everybody else is. I can never mess around with different loadouts (Thorn) 4) I can't play with friends who aren't MLG or they'll get destroyed. 5) and most importantly of all IT ISN'T FUN. in any way. Bungie, you are literally killing the game. All I can stand to play now is Trials, and even that is going to be -blam!-ed up by the ammo changes. It will literally be if you lose the first round, you may as well go to orbit, because they'll have shotties and snipers, and you won't. Unless you use Invective.Icebreaker/sidearm cheese.... The decision making of the PvP designers is incredibly frustrating. And them saying they changed SBMM is complete and utter bullshit. Rant over lol
-
Everyone keeps goin on about all these broken guns etc etc so why don't these great players with high KDs and streamers go out there and show us going flawless only using a loadout like red spectre, a sidearm and a sword. That would be skill
-
LOL at the people trying so hard in Crimson doubles.. quick breakdown of all my opponents: Round 1. Icebreaker Round 2. They have there sniper ammo, so they switch to Thorn. Round 3. They pull out Truth. Round 4. Thorn Round 5. Thorn Is this what the community has come too? I wish they'd lock load outs at the start of the game. Choose your weapons and go from there. People pull out the biggest crutches they can find. Limit them one crutch per game. It's a valentine's day special event for fun. But apparently it's full try hard MLG aimbot or go home.
-
People use the same loadouts because of SBMM. They are not left with a choice. I cant go into a Skirmish match and equip Red Spectre or an Eyasluna. My lobbies are just top 1% like myself. I have to use TLW to compete. The fact that Trials is the most chill game mode for me is ridicolous.
-
Trials Carries start now for anyone who messaged me. Follow along on twitch at rook1of1 to get in later tonight. Gamertag is Rook 1 of 1 and twitxh account is same name no spaces or caps though
-
I think the best part is when you get beat and the whole other team is using TLW/1KYS. ...and the t bagging starts. Like come on man. You're not that much better
-
Get the old spice and degree out we are getting sweaty
-
Yup all the little scrubs camping back with snipers thinking their good is priceless
-
What are you talking about? Destiny's meta is absolutely great. I love it when I push someone with a shotgun at close range when they have a sniper (a situation in which I should clearly have an advantage) and they bodyshot me with the sniper and melee me, killing me instantly. That is clearly the sign of a truly balanced meta.

Edited by WarlordoftheWest: 2/11/2016 8:10:41 PMI think the real problem is weapon variety; people want to win so they gravitate to what works. In a meta without some weapons being of use (the mythical sidearm and fusion rifle I rarely see 8n crucible) different load outs simply aren't as viable. I always play to win, but I agree I would like variety in how to win without hurting my chances by selecting a unpopular weapon.

Edited by DeusFever: 2/10/2016 4:44:37 PMCrucible will only get more "sweaty" until the release of Destiny 2. It's the same cycle for every game. The players who love competitive multiplayer the most are the ones getting the most kills. Thus attrition takes out the below average and average players first. As these players leave, you have ever higher concentrations of "sweaty" players. Eventually the population is not viable for reliable matchmaking, and the remaining community collapses. Bungie refuses to provide players a safe haven in private matches and instead keeps giving below average and average players in-game incentives to become cannon fodder for "sweaty" players. It's a plan with diminishing returns, and as a consequence, Destiny is in the "sweaty" stage that precedes death.

Nearly every game I play in the crucible, the connections are more like a dyslexic traffic light.
-
Git gud and drink the Doritos Dew brew you scrubladon!
-
I have not ever understood this idea. Don't you always try to win? Hasn't everyone in every fps pvp game ever tried to win? Why is this now somehow a bad thing?
-
I hate being pushed into playing better players. Why? Because I'm utter shite at crucible. Go ahead and check my stats, KD, medal score. It's all bollocks. But I try to have fun. Use varied load outs and test my gun skill using these load outs. But I'm not playin to get better in a huge margin. Just happy to be consistently average. Despite there being a number of close matches, I feel that I have to use a lot of Secondary to gain an advantage, or at least keep up with the other players. It's really not fun to have most of the other team use Last Word and 1000 yard stare. Or Doctor of Passion and Party Crasher. Having to work really hard to even compete in a match let alone win, is tiring. PVP right now is hurting my enjoyment for Destiny. Aside from too much special and far too much heavy. It's also the obnoxious lag that's making most games a relentless effort to avoid broken players.

I just really want to have primary gun fights. Not titan skating party crashers or lane camping snipers. Seriously, shotguns are the scrubbiest weapon of any game I've ever played.
-
Phh gimme a break. Hop on halo and you'll see what's competitive.
-
Try freelance mode, new to the crucible. It allows players to join into a game type (3v3, 6v6) only as a solo player. No fireteams allowed. It should make your games a little more fair, supposedly.

I feel like the more casual fan base has moved on.

Agreed skill based matchmaking sucks
-
Meh. I'm not very good, I just try to have fun and hopefully improve a little. But about those red bars . . .

Icebreaker just ruined our evening in doubles. Our last 6 matches it was used and gains a game changing advantage. I didn't see it used yesterday and we had some great skilled matches. If ice breaker becomes the go to gun in 3v3 I'll be staying away. Apart from trials as there's light level advantages.
