Currently we do story-strikes-Raid. In the raid we get gear and weapons designed to get us through the raid a little easier. Relic runner boots, armor increasing chest, reload speed in aura arms, tom, etc. Obviously there are guns that can be obtained outside of the raid that are good in the raid.. We grind the raid for these things. We grind the raid loot, rolls on loot, light on loot, shaders... I don't know about you, but I really dislike having to do the raid over and over and find groups and try and try and blah blah blah for a chance at gear that is only applicable in the freakin raid! My idea (which is simple and obviously would need to be expanded upon) is this. Why not have us go out into the game world and do stuff and things for specific gear that will enable us to do the raid. And then when you finally beat the raid, you get some really awesome stuff. For example: you start the campaign. It takes you through missions, bounties, quests, strikes, some really tough specific activities, and eventually rewards you with the tools necessary to even enter the raid. Like if it's a cabal raid you need a Vex conflux access key to enter the network and slip past the cabal fortress and enter their base or something. Once inside the base you need certain cabal access keys to do this and that. These things show up in your inventory. Then maybe make these items accessible from vendors after you obtain them once, but at a high cost which probably requires you to do stuff and things in the world. Just thinking out loud here. You can also trade these things for a certain currency which will enable you to upgrade gear and weapons. This will keep the grind alive. This will alleviate ridiculous repetition of end game content and essentially keep the campaign stuff relevant.
