This is why I stopped doing nightfalls.....
Let's face it. Nightfall rewards have always been a sour subject inside of Destiny. Once TTK dropped we were promised loot drops based off of items we needed, this sounded great at first, we were all pretty optimistic going into nightfalls. But what I went through the latter of 2015, in regards to nightfall loot, is beyond bad luck. I run a character of each class, have every exotic and item in the game yadda yadda. You know, the guy that spends way to many hours on a video game..... Thats me. But I still did nightfalls, to be social with friends and help out others who need loot to better their characters. So back in November when I ran three nightfalls on the weekly reset and recieved a Vanguard ghost shell as reward across all three characters, I laughed, shook it off, and figured it yo be just some bad luck. Across the next 4 weeks after that, a total of 5 weeks, 15 nightfall drops I recieved........ Wait for it......... 12 Vanguard ghost shells!!! 12 out of 15 rewards were Vanguard ghost shells, my other three rewards were legendary drops of some sort. So I told myself no more nightfall, and I told myself I wouldn't bitch on the forums.
Well, the game has gone dry. So in my boredom today I decided to play a nightfall with my friend who is lower level. I then later in the day, about 15mij ago solod it on my second character. What did I get as rewards today you ask? Vanguard GHOST SHELLS!!!!!!!!!
I mean seriously WTF!!?!?!?!
Think about it everyone 14 of my last 17 nightfalls have yielded the exact same damn drop. Am I the only one having this issue?? What gives bungie?
So many other things that have bothered me lately. And I'm not one to complain on here but since im typing, I'm just gonna list a few.
First, I love crucible, I love to snipe in crucible, but damn bungie why do u make it so easy to snipe? Someone in mid strafe, or someone getting pelted with bullets should have some kind of penalty to accuracy.
Second, nechrocasm was so damn hard and just lucky to get, now it's completely obsolete. Bring it to year two.
Third, the inability to get shaders and ships that are supposed to be obtainable is plain annoying and pointless. Don't let me see something in game that's advertised as obtainable and let it not be.
Four, give us something to look forward to for Frick sake. A week of roses on the ground in the tower isn't going to silence everyone's distaste for the way the games being ran right now.
Can't think of my other complaints. Sure to come to my head as soon as I post. Anyways, anyone else having bad luck in the nightfall. Curious to others experiences.

Edit 2: Seems like im not the only one piling up the Vanguard ghost rewards! as far as you guys getting horn kits......oh man that's funny!! I didn't know they dropped. Can only imagine your reactions to receiving those!! LOL!
Edit 3: my voice, or the voices before me have been heard!!!! Ghost shell drops have been nerfed!!!!!!

A few weeks ago. Nightfall rewards- 3 strange coins. I get more strange coins farming chests for half the time it takes to complete a nightfall. It felt like a slap in the face.

I have basically stopped doing them, except on occasion to help a friend. I would be perfectly fine with the current rewards if we could get our buff back. That alone would bring me back to doing nfs.

Hadn't run the NF in over a month. Last night ran it on all three just to kill time before the superbowl and was reminded of why I stopped running them.

2 RepliesOne of my last nightfalls I saw 3 Vanguard ghost shells drop, 2 at 303 light and 1 at 305 light. Of my last 15 nightfalls 12 of them were ghost shells. 1 was a horn kit, 1 was a sparrow kit and 1 was a pair of useless boots. "improved" nightfall rewards

In all honesty, I don't understand why Bungie changed the loot drops for Nightfall. Compared to Y1, it's absolutely most disappointing. Nightfall completed run = EXOTIC DROP! Point blank period, but with the changes, E mote drops are the only other acceptable drops.

1 ReplyMy wife and I along with another friend ran nightfalls on all three characters last Tuesday and out of all rewards combined, a 303 crap roll legendary sniper was the best anyone got. At this point, its just laughable.

Yeah, nightfall loot is garbage now. Year 1 loot in general was much better, which is sad because even then it wasn't all that great. The thing that made the nightfall bearable in Year 1 was that even when i had everything or got bad drops, I knew I'd get an xp buff and be able to level up my factions and/or the vanguard faster which would let me have a shot at more loot. I never believed they artificially extended playtime before, but I'm pretty sold now. With how much they've diluted the loot pool in the NF by adding ghosts, sparrow kits, emotes and on top of all that the extra level of RNG that determines the light of the drop, it's become clear to me that they've done it to draw out the play time of those still playing. Remember when they promised to fix the NF drops? Remember when they promised smart loot to minimize duplicates and have items drop more relevant to your light? Yeah........that didn't happen.

The chances for a good reward were better in year 1. But I did the nightfalls each week primarily for the 25% XP gain buff. Even when I already had all the exotics that were in the NF loot table. And don't forget about the Weekly Heroic strikes. The guaranteed 27 strange coins made it a must, and we usually ran them back to back with the night falls

I only do the nightfall when I'm bored.... It needs to be reverted back to year 1 status with the buff and actual good drops. I want my damn flame back

The 2 BIGGEST problems with nightfalls now is there is no rep boost and the orbit on wipe is gone. Where's the sense of survival when you respawn at check points?

The year 1 nf was a thrill. Regardless of loot drop, it was a buzz to beat it, get the blue flame and enjoy the sense of achievement as it was sooooo tough. Even septicus prime had its moments! There's no real challenge anymore to nf, or even the raid tbh, even getting an exotic means grind to upgrade it etc. bring back the FUN bungie, for fvcks sake.

No blue flames, and no kick to orbit have all ruined nightfall. Loot is bed but is normal at high level. The problem is no fun. I want the kick to orbit.

3 RepliesThere's zero reason. Loot table is just ghosts and high level(290s) vendor gear. XP buff is too small. Was there ever another reason to do the NF than what I said above?

I actually quit for a month or so back around November because I was so frustrated with the game, mostly due to Nightfalls which had been my favorite part of the week. So I came back, intent on ignoring anything overly grindy and Nightfalls, but this last week I ended up running it three times: what'd I get? A 285 AR, a cheering emote, and 2 strange coins - as plain a reminder as I could have got to not do Nightfalls anymore.
