They love your $, not you.

I absolutely love looking online at news about Bungievision's "Drinkenshtein" aka Destiny every few months. And right after I read the damning articles, I enjoy coming back on here and reading the forums. I usually get a very good laugh out of it--today was no different. So many people on here are oblivious. Plenty of you know EXACTLY what's going on and are mad af. If you enjoy this game that's cool--but there's been so much muffed up stuff going on with Bungie and Activision that I don't see how or why one would want to support these crooks, given how they treat their customers. "How happy are you with your gaming experience, scale of 1-5?" ...Can I answer a question with a question?...How many people- fans and employees alike- has Bungievision burned in this Destiny debacle? (Millions). You simply can't burn THAT many people and expect widespread praise and adoration (and patience) for a stale product at best, that doesn't even begin to live up to its hype and budget. (They lied continuously). They know they have failed because $ ain't what it was "supposed" to be! (And why is that? Because the customer is always right, and they didn't listen to you the customer during the process of this game. It should be an on-going convo, not the dev telling you why you're wrong in wanting things fixed!) How do some of you still not see what they are doing?! It's plain as day. They make all this new content, then they ask themselves "how much of this can we literally cut out and sell to them down the road without them knowing/going ape shit?"-and then they dime it out as best they can, lately with a focus on micro transactions I would assume. This has been their way since Day 1. Why would you want to support this? The model is flawed. How do you derive satisfaction continually giving $ to a team that doesn't listen to you? They make changes you don't want and don't tell you about it--and refuse to do what you want to do because their "philosophies" don't allow for it. They're asking if you like the game in that email because they know you don't anymore, but want some data to show Activision "See! See! People DO like it! We just need more funding!" ($500 mil wasn't enough...?) They say they listen to you on here--they'll put your wishes on a wish list for maybe Santa to help with!-but they won't do a damn thing about it. They only listen to Supreme Leader Bobby Kotick. So why bother? Final little thought: I see that after over a year and THOUSANDS of people being vocally pissed off, Bungie's answer to optional matchmaking is to have away messages available on the app/site. I must admit this is a step in right direction...but that's a stop-gap and not a permanent fix! In fact that alternative was suggested by Lost Sols and others YEARS (read: multiple yearS) ago--to which Bungie said there was no need for it. I honestly thought they would have optional matchmaking supported by now--clearly they are in WAY over their heads. Screwed if they do, screwed if they don't. You coulda put a12 year old kid in charge as decision-maker for what makes it into the game and the outcome would have been far better than what you have now. Here's to hoping all you sane folks quit playing this game so that as a whole gamers can send a message to the industry: that if devs wanna act like Bungievision, then they won't succeed.

  • The reason Destiny is a "bad" game is because the consumers all disagree. Everyone wants different things and no one can agree on anything. Every time I come on these forums all I see is people saying to nerf things and then the very next post is saying that the nerfs are what made this game bad. Bungee has tried to implement most of what the community has asked for but then as soon as they do everyone just complains about how they ruined the game even more.

  • Blah blah blah. Every game and company is about making money. Acting like bungie and activision are any different in that regard is moronic.

  • Dude, your being way too critical, and not very objective. Yes, Bungie wants to make money. They are a company, so this is obvious. However, to say that don't care is way off base. I've seen plenty of video game companies "Not Care" about a title they've released quite often. But, with Bungie I can say very honestly, and sincerely that is not the case with their operation. I have seen time and time again that they are continuing to listen to the gamers and make changes to make this game better, and that they honestly want to make it better. That is extremely rare in this business and should be respected. I think the truth lies in your unrealistic expectations of what's possible. Game content, fixes, patches, etc, are extremely time consuming. Do you think a programmer can just push a button to fix an issue? lol. It requires rewriting code, then testing, and more rewriting. I'm just ranting because so many people here, have no idea what it takes, or how much man power the endeavor of fixing and improving a game is. And, let's be honest. Destiny is one of the smoothest, and bug free games you can play right now. Does that mean it's perfect? Of course not. But, people like you need to do a little research before making these allegations about companies without all of the facts.

  • This company is not the first to cut content up. Whoever greedy corporate type that started season passes are to blame. If anything, we the consumers rewarded that concept buying them. We could have shut it down cold when it started.

Bungie and activision made enough money at the release to hire a ton of talented devs and other people who could've made destiny the most fantastic game out there by now, but instead they chose not to do any of that. They chose to over work the people they already have and rush out bugged content just to get our money. Dying light is releasing a dlc next week that has twice the content of the base game for $20 with the money and resources that activision alone has destiny could've been one of the greatest games ever, I don't care to pay for content if it's worth it, but bungie and activision chose to charge as much as they possibly could for as little content as they could get away with, I mean half the guns in the game are exactly the same with different names, and don't even get me started on the ships, they threw some bones on atheon's ship and called it crota's ship.....come on!

    • My personal experience with Destiny taught me to never pre-order ANYTHING. AS much as I was looking forward to The Division, I've decided to let it drop, give it a few weeks, and see what kind of PvE experience I can expect. Destiny promised a lot of things, but many of them simply never materialized. While I give Destiny credit for some wonderful gameplay and design, it's still the most disappointed I've been in a game for a long time. They'll have to work ten times as hard for my money if they ever expect to make a sale on Destiny 2, and even if they do, it won't be until I see what the finished product and engame looks like.

      • Well it's a business of course they like our $$$. But as a consumer I'll only play and buy things that interest me. Did I get my money's worth? Yes Do I want more? Yes I'm currently on a break from Destiny and I am a gamer I play other games as well until they release something that interests me.

        • Forgive the intrusion, not trying to spam this, though that may be a byproduct of my attempts to keep this rolling. This seems to have touched a chord with many and I believe we should keep this trending. The goal is to get Mr. Parsons to see this if possible and it relates to pretty much all the complaints we have with the game. Whether you agree with all or just part of this post, let's bump and keep it trending. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/188868653/0/0 (I know it may be a long shot and this is probably wishful thinking on my end that this will get seen, but if there was ever a time to try, this is it)

I'm not saying Bungie is perfect, but are you critcising a company for having an interest in generating revenue? Because it's pretty obvious that is the core objective of every company in the entire world since the beginning of time. They might not be going about it in the right way, but it's hardly a surprise! I imagine most players on here, like me, have spent a LOT of hours in this game and have definitely got their money's worth. A sense of entitlement for a stream of new and free content is unrealistic.

          • Every game company loves money, that's why they make the game!! Really guys it not about friends and having fun because in the end bungie needs to gain enough money to keep their company moving toward.

The big news is not that they love our money and not us...They were not looking for love....They always loved money. They are a company. The big fvcking news is that with these updates show that they either : DO NOT LOVE our money, or they believe that their Hopson did great with his psychology-mind-game theory and we are some stupid addicted junkies that will throw money in our screen whatever they do, as long as Destiny is up and running. make your choice. • Everybody does that, every single company is after your money, football teams don't love their fans, they love the money the fans represent, they are all the same. The only difference is that other companies are not as shitty as this one with the costumers.
