This is a theory that doesn't have a lot of solid evidence I can just point to, but it is just a feeling I get from seeing the game and it makes sense to me. TL;DR: Alpha Lupi was an Iron Lord who became the First Speaker. So, basically, I think that Alpha Lupi is NOT the Traveler, rather, Alpha Lupi is the first Speaker for the Traveler. This is based on what the Speaker's job is. The Speaker says that his job is to speak for the Traveler since it cannot speak for itself. Also, the Dreams of Alpha Lupi grimoire cards seem to be someone talking about the Traveler, not it talking about itself. Therefore, we can assume that Alpha Lupi is not actually the Traveler, rather, one of the Speaker's that speaks for it. I personally believe Alpha Lupi is the first Speaker because of this next part. When looking at equipment such as the chest piece of Alpha Lupi, I noticed there is a strong resemblance between that equipment and the Iron Lord equipment. So, the name Alpha Lupi means Alpha Wolves, or shall we say Wolf, and this is a strong connection to the Iron Lords. The Iron Lords are referred to as wolves in their equipment. They are also renowned for establishing the city, which they established right under the Traveler. So, I believe, Alpha Lupi was an Iron Lord who led the others to the Traveler and founded the city.
