The Last Stand
It was near midnight, rain was pouring down from the sky, and the few remaining guardians were the last stand for the city. Rain drops cascaded off of the guardians' helmets as their eye sight began to dim. It seemed as if all of the odds were stacked against them. A noise that matched a marching battalion suddenly became apparent. It grew louder and louder while a dim red glow slowly began to become visible. The red light blinked on and off while it slowly got closer, but a short time after this unusual occurrence began the red light disappeared. A few dead silent seconds passed by as guardians held their weapons close as if it were a newborn child. A piercing screech deafened the guardians while a bright light shined right in front of them. As the guardians slowly got up they could only see armies of vex that covered nearly every inch in front of them. The rain ran across their cold, robotic shell as they analyzed every predictable outcome. It was impossible for the guardians to win, but they were the last stand. Titans, hunters, and warlocks held no bitterness against each other. While trying to protect their home, they were all just brothers and sisters.
I tried to get people to click on the post, that's why the title is in all caps haha. If you like this let me know, I'd be happy to write some more stories. This was typed up on my phone, so if there are any grammar errors that's probably why. Hope you enjoyed the short story.
