Defender Tweaks

Some suggestions (again) on some changes to the Defender subclass. The following is a mix of nerfs, tweaks and buffs, coming from a Defender main with hella experience. Let's start in Perk screen order: - Grenades. [spoiler]Can Suppression grenades be changed to IMPACT, not BOUNCE style grenades? Feels like they only register 50% of the time, ESPECIALLY with stormcallers. I've literally dropped them at people's feet and they've just walked through it. Magnetic grenades have a stupid high lock on range. Lower assistance? Also, void spike grenades. Why? Useless.[/spoiler] - Melee. [spoiler]Only one thing to say here. If a Sunsinger gets their shield on a hit, not a kill, then the same should apply to me. Titans love punching things, yet we lose to hunters as they punch faster, and we lose to warlocks as they have superpower melees.[/spoiler] [u][b]Ok, multiple points need to be made on Ward of Dawn, so I'll break them up as best I can. [/b][/u] - Armour of Light. [spoiler]I should not be 1-shotgun-melee'd to death inside my own bubble, when no other super can be shotgun melee'd. It should be a buff comparable to the buff a radiant, shielded sunsinger gets. Again, they get that instantly, and are able to roam... I am confined to my bubble.[/spoiler] - Blessing of Light. [spoiler]Nothing short of a super should be able to 1-shot a Blessed Defender. If it can... Then what was the point of the blessing?[/spoiler] - Weapons of Light. [spoiler]Extremely powerful in the bright situation, perhaps lasts too long. Reduce the time it lasts for so that it can be used as a push-back, not an all out assault buff.[/spoiler] - General tweaks. [spoiler]Use the super bar as an indicator for how much longer the bubble has before it breaks, on terms of both time and damage. Give a more audible cue that a bubble has gone up. Mark them on radar for allies? Too often I will make orbs but be killed anyway. If the orbs are made, the bubble was up... And I shouldn't have died. Make it an instant buff as soon as the buttons are pressed. Suppress enemy ability use inside the bubble. It's MY bubble! [/spoiler] [b][u]Ok, now for a part about the "Super v Super" aspect.[/u][/b] Titans in general have a very situational super style, particularly after the Sunbreaker nerf, due to the fact we have a lock-down playstyle to the supers. As a result, other supers often have higher killcounts or better influence on the battlefield. So, some tweaks: - Voidwalker. [spoiler]A Nova Bomb should take down a bubble. Agreed. What it should not do is take down the bubble, kill everyone inside, leave an aftermath and trigger health regeneration for the Warlock. [/spoiler] - Sunsinger. [spoiler]Most of the issues have been discussed. Allow fusion grenades to stick to the bubble for bonus damage.[/spoiler] - Stormcaller. [spoiler]Landfall should not remove a bubble outright. Allow the lightning to chain damage to a bubble. Fix an issue where lightning can chain into or through a bubble from outside.[/spoiler] - Striker. [spoiler]No large issues. Prevent shoulder charge from throwing you out of a bubble. Allow lightning grenades to stick to a bubble. [/spoiler] - Defender. [spoiler]Allow suppression grenades to do large damage to a bubble. Allow magnetic and Spike grenades to stick to a bubble.[/spoiler] - Sunbreaker. [spoiler]Prevent the throw-forward action from throwing you out of a bubble. Allow fusion grenades to stick to a bubble. Prevent thermite from glitching through a bubble wall. Increase hammers required to destroy bubble (currently 2). [/spoiler] - Gunslinger. [spoiler]Requires 3 Golden Gun shots to remove a bubble. (Super for super trade). Allow trip mines to stick to a bubble. Burn damage also applies to bubble. [/spoiler] - Bladedancer. [spoiler]Currently a bladedancer can kill an Armour of Light Titan in 2 hits. Not a blanaced trade-off. Increase to 4. Prevent Arcblade attacks from pushing you out of bubble. Razor's edge to do bonus damage against bubble to compensate. [/spoiler] - Nightstalker [spoiler]Requires biggest rework for balance. Allow smoke and void spike grenades to stick to a bubble. Allow quiver to take down a bubble if all 3 shots are used, or to drain faster if quiver is not used. Major issue: both classes are for support, so quiver should no longer be able to kill, particularly on shielded Titans. Voidwall grenades do bonus damage to a bubble.[/spoiler] There you have it.
