SRL - How did you do?
Since the first (hopefully not the last) SRL - Sparrow Racing League is now over, I wanna hear how did you Guardians do on this event? Share your thought, stats, records, questions etc. and what would you like to see on the second SRL event?
I just finished my last race when the event ended and I personally enjoyed the event a lot and I really want to see more in the future. Two main things I want for the second SRL is more tracks (at least one on each destination) and better change for the best rewards whoever wins the race or places in the top 3 (I hate to see the afkers receive 320 gear when I get a Mote of Light for winning)
Here's some of my stats on this event from my SRL Record Book, Vol. 1:

Got Rank 4 on all Classes but only got a few 320 Helmets & Class Items. Also tried to get the sweet Bungie Emblem on the Xbox One Bungie Bounty, but it's nearly impossible to match up against them since I live in Finland so I had no luck... I really want that Emblem some day tho...[/spoiler]

3 320 helms 4 319 helms a few 315 to 317 helms and a few rows of 311- 314 still in the vault for future infusing a few class items highest was 3 317's didnt drop as much as the helms so that's what i gained. it was fun had a blast. even with the new sparrows i found myself sticking to the tumbler and with all racing gear on and maxed i also found myself winning almost every match. by doing so it got boring, and enjoyed the races where the difference in time from 1st to 6th was 5 seconds if that. overall it was very fun and enjoyed the fact that i could party up with 5 other friends clan members or family members and have a blast in a crucible type match. we would purposely try to push each other into the fans on mars or bump them off the track ( the long drop on venus near fallen ship) while they where in mid air, often times we would side boost to much during our smack talking and laughter and go right off the edge on our own.. it was alot of fun.. ty bungie for this event and giving people 2 free sparrows on top of that with the class items and helms as rewards.

2 RepliesMy goal was to get my characters helmet light up. Infused 2 characters helmets up to 320 and the last to 319(could have reached 320, but I wanted to infuse an exotic). Even though I was just farming gear, I actually got pretty good. The last matches I was either 1st or 2nd place. Most of them were me and another person 5-10 seconds ahead of everyone else. Those races were fun. It's too chaotic when everyone is bunched up. I enjoy the subtleties of taking the fastest routes. And even though sparrow racing is over, I'll share some tips. Sparrow racing isn't like a regular car racing game. In racing games you usually take the outside lane and turn into the apex of a turn. That's not the case for SRL at all if you want to get the fastest times. In sparrow racing you can hug the inner lane and take a tight turn using your side boosts for stability. It's more difficult since you can hit the wall or drag outwards, but it's easy enough to pull off once you get the hang of it. Also, sometimes you need to side boost when hitting a gate during a turn. It jets you straight into the next gate without having to adjust with your rear end wagging everywhere. The first turn on the Mars map is a good example of this. Your goal for the most part is to figure out the shortest route to the next gate. If you can go straight to the next gate without touching your analog stick, that was a perfect section. Missing gates isn't always a big deal. There are certain gates that you should never miss though. Keep these gates in mind. They're the gates that are far apart from each other. Miss these and you give everyone else a huge chance to catch up. And just conserve your side boosts. These are the key to winning. Use them for tighter turns and helping to straighten up after a gate. Side boosts restore completely after you hit the next lap, so go ahead and use any or all of them if you need to when your lap is almost finished.

2 - 320 helmets. All I really needed was 1 - 320 class item and I played the shiit out of SRL, and I never got a 320 class item

I managed 3 320 helms, 2 319s, 2 318s and a slew of 310 to 316 helms ( half my armor vaults worth). Sadly I only got about 8 bonds and only 3 were 317. I hit rank 5 and stopped cause I was burned out.

Pretty content. #1251 worldwide for Mars on PS4 #1550 worldwide for Venus on PS4 #5067 for ELO Didn't have a lot of time, I think I could have done better; I was steadily improving and got my best times only yesterday. All in all I enjoyed it, looking forward to the next one!

Got a 320 class item and 319 helm. Got my characters up to 313 and 306 which is great as I don't raid. For free it was good as a way to level up, but I didn't play enough for rank 4. Not quite interesting enough (more maps?). Free though! I like the reward system as it is as not everyone is good at racing (or crucible for that matter). If you only have good rewards for top players, a lot of people won't bother playing.

I got a 319 helm and 319 warlock bond. Helped push me over 300 so I got a couple exotic engrams to decode at 310 to push me up to 303. Not too bad since I haven't tried a raid since Crota

Two things need to happen in order for a second SRL Event to be successful: 1. There must be additional maps, at the very least one. 2. Different gear must drop up to 320 after rank 3. If it's simply helmets and class items again, no one who put time into the first SRL will care.

made it to 2.5 on my warlock, got a couple 310 class items but thats about it. i didnt get any of the fancy sparrows either, which kinda sucks, but i still got three of my most wanted shaders. so im happy.
