The year one experience was awesome the experience of completing your first blind raid really unique exotics that did feel special just with how the looked and sounded. I feel some of that has fallen off on year 2. The story feels much better the cutscenes blew me away for TTK and the quests felt like they had a purpose now. But I think what they are lacking is in level progression and gun feel. The profession feels kinda streamline where everyone can get to level 40 now and that makes it feel less special plus in iron banner and trials once you get to basically 310 there's no real difference in power you can still get easily killed by 290 players and I wish that level difference meant more so you had a drive to level up. I mean Ik loot from the raid is random and it's hard to level up to 320 but the fact that I can sit at 310 and not have no real need to be max level is disappointing to me. Also the weapons in year 2 seem more balanced which is nice but most don't feel that exotic. Yes it was fun in year 1 to run around with super overpowered weapons but that does get frustrating and not what I'm exactly talking about. The weapons don't really have that unique looks or sound to them. Like I want a weapon that just by having it equipped makes me feel more powerful it doesn't need the fastest time to kill just as long as it's a good overall gun that is worth the exotic slot. Most guns in year 2 are pve dps machines. black spindle, touch of malice, no time to explain are all weapons with huge dps potential but 2 of those 3 are essentially reskins of year 1 weapons which Ik is basically the point but they don't feel unique if we have been playing with them for a year and they all have the same use. Year 1 had vex which still evades me I have yet to get if but the idea of an automatic fusion rifle with such a unique look is what draws me to wanting it. look at hawkmoon, mida, last word, thorn, red death, patients and time, these all had very unique abilities and looks that gave the guns there overall feel and I don't think we have many exotics like that anymore.
