=The Taikonaut Chapter 5=

House of Scar!

62

The Idio- erm, Danny!

16

Hey guys! I know I’ve been pumping these things out like hotcakes, but I’ll slow down soon. Maybe. This is a continuation of Chapter 4: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/177104422/0/0 Also, it would mean a lot if you could leave a reply. A bump, at least. So others can see these posts. Thank you, and enjoy! |=============================| “Ghost, I’m still tired. I want to sit down for a bit before-” Sasha trailed off. Crap. All her stuff was still outside. Sasha spent the next three hours picking up all her stuff, and burying dave. Dave, judging from messages on her helmet, was an asshole. He reminded her of somebody... someone older, angrier, bitchier, but still a total asshole. She shook off the feeling, and glaced around inside and outside. “Well,” Sasha said, patting her hands clean. “Think I’m done.” “But everything is covered in moon dust, Sasha-” Ghost said. “How will you clean it up?” “Don’t worry, I have something…” Sasha said as she reached into the closet. “A BROOM!” Sasha held it above her head. “A what?” Ghost asked. “Something in my helmet’s files. Before they had vacuums, they used these for cleaning.” Sasha looked at her hand vacuum, crushed by one of her weights. “Some bots in the tower still use them.” “How primitive!” “I know, right?” Another two hours later, she finished cleaning. “Ahh…” Sasha sighed, while she sat on the couch. She looked at the door, that she welded back into place. Well, welded, in the sense that placing a superheated fist between the broken bits and punched them into place. “Okay, ghost…” Sasha looked intently at ghost. “Want to talk?” |=============================| Sasha sat at her table. Ghost was opposite of her. “So,” Sasha asked. “What do you want to talk about?” “I want to talk about a lot of things.” Ghost replied. “First, I want to talk about why you don’t like the tower. Then, about House of Scar. Finally, we were just broken into, and what will you do about…” Ghost thought for a moment. “Idiot?” Sasha cut in. “Y- yes, idiot. If that’s what you call him.” Ghost said wearily. “Now, about the tower- why don’t you like it? We used to go there all the time.” “Ghost, it’s been over a hundred years before we last went to the tower.” Sasha remarked. “The only reason we went today was because of Guardian. That suave bastard. He made me realize again why I hate that place so much.” “But Gua- erm-” Ghost stopped himself. “But Sasha- why do you hate the tower so much?” "Well, first off-" Sasha replied. "I can decrypt my own engrams now. I don't trust the Cryptarch. Rahool…" She shook a fist. "I only trust the one at the reef." "Sasha, we both know that's not the reason. I know you just don't like seeing Cayde. Why?" “You honestly don’t remember? The Twilight Gap? Cayde ran off without me?” |=============================| It had been a few hundred years ago. Ah, yes. The Twilight Gap. Where guardians were learning using light to wield as a weapon. A call from the city, a transmission stating: ”This is Vanguard Commander Saladin Forge. All guardians to the city. We are under attack. This is not a drill. Hurry. NOW!” She stopped remodeling, grabbed her rifle, and left for earth. She hadn’t gotten her trusty hawkmoon yet, or her jump pack. She was nowhere near, the guardian she was today. Even though she single-handedly took out an armada of exiles on the moon. She saw what was happening. Oh crap. There were fallen swarming the valley. They were climbing up the cliffside. She saw Ana Bray shoot a maelstrom of flaming bullets. That’s new, Sasha thought. She swooped low against the sea of fallen, shooting whatever rockets she had. Took out a few walker tanks. She went vertical up the side of the cliff, right past the AA guns, still firing. She went upside down, then leveled out. She emptied her ship’s ammo reserves moving down fallen and skiffs. A stray devil missile hit her, and she lost control. She was heading straight for the cliffside. “Ghost! Transmat!” Sasha yelled “Hold on… transmat is a tricky thing, you know. I haven’t gotten quite used to it yet-” Ghost stalled. “GHOST!” In a flash, Sasha and ghost were in the main sniper’s nest. “Good to see you, Sash.” Ana Bray said. “Hey, Ana. How are we holding up?” Sasha questioned. “Look for yourself.” Ana waved a hand toward the railing. “Ah!” Sasha hit a House of Winter dreg with the butt of her AR, sending it falling to its death. “You know, I should handle this.” Ana said, as her pistol became engulfed in flames. |=============================| “The hunters of today call it a Golden Gun. I call it: ‘something Ana should have patented long ago’” Sasha said aloud. |=============================| Sasha was shooting fallen coming up the cliffside. In the distance, she heard something she could only describe as thunder. “Don’t let them make it up the cliff!” She heard Saladin say. Skiffs hovered above the station and dropped troops. All captains. And an archon. They had orange colors, and a unrecognized ‘logo’. Something she hadn’t seen before. But; they were the ones who brought Ana down, and most of the Iron lords. Sasha had gone mad with rage. She pushed into the crowd and punched five of the captain’s faces in. The archon picked her up, shot her once in the stomach with a shrapnel launcher, then threw her at the charging guardians. “Sh- shit…” Sasha sighed, barely able to talk. “Ghost… don’t… get… destroyed…” She looked in horror as Cayde-6, one of her closest friends, looked at her, the fallen, and then just ran away. She dragged herself to a nearby closet and hid there. She bled until she died. |=============================| “Oh.” Ghost said, surprised. “How did I forget something like that?” “It was dark there, when the fallen came.” Sasha looked out the window. “Thank god it became bright when I finally died there.” “I’m… sorry.” “Don’t be.” Sasha had a stern look as she studied the rocks outside. “Don’t be.” "Are you still mad at Cayde?" Ghost asked. "Very. He knows it, too. I'm stubborn, ghost. I do things my way." Sasha clarified. "I know that all too well." Ghost said, under his breath. “Well.” Sasha looked at ghost. “What should we talk about now?” |=============================| Make sure on what to vote for, Convo w/ghost about: House Scar, Guardian? or The Idiot (AKA Danny) Also, make sure to check the #Sasha tag regularly- I update the story very often.
