It has a lot of good exclusive games but it is still doing bad
Is it because of the lack of third party games?
If so, how did the wii sell so much when it also had a lack of third party games

Edited by Smarkdow: 11/26/2015 9:14:39 PMThe Wii released at the right time and appealed to a previously untapped demographic, casual (in the non-pejorative sense of the word) gamers with its focus on motion controls. Unfortunately for Nintendo, that market isn't particularly loyal to the brand nor do they really care about what happens next, so despite huge sales, the rate of those sales slowed over the years. As for the WiiU, there's a combination of factors that led to the lukewarm sales. The casual gamers that were the backbone of the Wii's success didn't stick around. Hardcore gamers were alienated by Nintendo. The name itself implies it's an add-on for the Wii instead of a brand new game console. Lack of third party support. Piss poor marketing. The tablet controller is unwieldy. It's specs are weak and merely caught up to the 360 and PS3, instead of leading the pack as Nintendo used to do. And so on.

Massive lack of competitive gaming

Edited by MarcG420: 11/26/2015 8:57:04 PMBecause 100 million people or so bought the last one and see this one as unnecessary. Honestly though, I think it's that god awful controller... That thing is ridiculous.

People though it was an expansion to the Wii. Also people people didn't understand the gamepad or realize that it's games are quite fun.

It fits it's purpose brilliantly. However, the other consoles are more versatile, not to mention more powerful. In honesty, I love the Wii. It has brilliant games.

With Nintendo, it's a hit or a miss really. Either you get a Wii and DS type sales or you get GameCube and Wii U type sales.

Edited by Sora Orth: 11/26/2015 3:27:26 PM- Marketing when it launched was confusing (everyone thought it was a wii add one at first, it took till next years E3 to sort it out) - the tablet, even though I never had a problem with it, and somewhat enjoyed it, was considered clunky and too gimmicky - PS4 and Xbone releasing a year later didn't help - Nintendo creating crappy policy's with YouTube probably soured people's interest in the Wii U - I don't know why on this, but no one seems to enjoy nintendo games anymore - the third party thing is somewhat true, there wasn't a lot of company's wanting to dive into the wii U's shaky business or program games around the game pad. to my opinion, I had no problem with the Wii U as a system, no one seems to share my opion it seems though.

Edited by dguzma07: 11/26/2015 3:22:47 PMIt's like a few problems apparently. Read an article on this very same topic sometime ago. Don't remember the site, but it touches upon restrictive online features, console that's tougher to develop software for, less of a multi media functionality, and maybe bad marketing.

And there is no legit games for it

Because its Nintendo

It's because it's marketing campaign is just that awful.
