The sun warmly lit the morning dew, glimmering like diamonds. And under that sun stood the Tower, tall and proud. It's arching white spires rose high and majestic, the flags and banners waving lazily in the warm breeze. And under that Tower, sat Bladedancer, his head slumped into the palm of his hand. He yawned, and stretched out on the steps in front of the Tower. Looking up at the sky, he groggily said to himself, "It's way to early to be up". Bladedancer's Ghost chimed in, in his familiar robotic voice, "You still have another hour. Maybe take a quick nap?" He nodded and adjusted his cloak around him to form a makeshift blanket and closed his eyes, hoping to catch a few z's before school. Tower High was just entering Year 2 of its ten year curriculum. The Tower trains gifted young boys and girls blessed by the Traveler's Light to combat the Darkness, a merciless, ruthless evil that hopes to eradicate all life in the Sol System. Long ago, the Traveler settled on Earth, fleeing the Darkness, near certain death. In a last ditch effort, the Traveler released 6 Ghosts into the wild, hoping to find gifted individuals to guard the Traveler until it regained it's strength. Until then, the Traveler sits dormant, quiet. Bladedancer's Ghost chimed again, this time more urgent, "I detect something nearby. Heat signature behind you." Bladedancer stood up right quick and drew his blade, silver, thin, and lethal. It was quiet, save Bladedancer's calm and slow breathing. Some rustling behind a box and finally a girl stood out. "Aw c'mon ya kill joy. I almost got the jump on him" the girl exasperated and made her way over to Bladedancer. "Nice try Gunslinger. You know trying to sneak up on a Hunter is near impossible." Bladedancer chuckled and sheathed his blade. "Well if your dumb Ghost hadn't been in babysitter mode I would've." Gunslinger grinned and playfully flicked Bladedancer's Ghost. "So how was your break Gunslinger?" the Ghost asked. "Fine. I went hunting a lot. You should've seen the size of this Minotaur I downed. It was huge!" "Yea well you should've seen what I managed to snag over the break." Bladedancer said proudly. "Yea? What?" Gunslinger crossed her arms. "Your cloak!" Snagging Gunslinger's cloak, Bladedancer sprinted away, the cloak held tightly in his hands. "Hey Blade c'mon!" Gunslinger whined and chased after Bladedancer. Bladedancer and Gunslinger laughed and ran around the Tower's courtyard until Bladedancer rounded the bounty stand and was met with a brutally strong shoulder that left him sprawled across the courtyard's tile. Bladedancer groaned and rubbed his head. Gunslinger grabbed her cloak, stuck her tongue out and helped Bladedancer up. After brushing himself off, he crossed his arms and looked with annoyance onto the two newcomers. It was the Titan brothers, Defender and Striker, laughing together at their "prank". Their shiny, bulky armor glinting in sunlight. "Whoops sorry man! Didn't see you!" Striker mocked. "How was your trip?" Defender chortled and wiped his tears way. "Haha very funny Striker. Hope I didn't hurt you too bad." Bladedancer rolled his eyes. Striker growled and stepped closer. Defender held his brother back. "Hey man, not now. Class has almost started." Defender told Striker. Striker nodded and stepped back. Gunslinger crossed her arms, "That was really uncalled for." Defender said back, "Yea well next time make sure Bladedorker isn't in our way." Gunslinger rolled her eyes. "Hey have you two meatheads seen Sunsinger and Voidwalker? They're gonna be late." Defender shrugged. "Nah I haven't. Knowing them they're probably in the libr-" Defender was cut off by the footsteps behind him. Both he and Striker turned around. "Hey what's the commotion out here?" a boy's voice asked. "We were in the library when we heard a shoulder charge go off." the girl's voice chimed. It was Sunsinger and Voidwalker, the Warlock students. Their robes flowing effortlessly down their bodies. Books clasped in their hands. "Just a couple buddies having fun is all!" Striker laughed and put Bladedancer in a headlock. Bladedancer grunted and shoved Striker off. He adjusted himself looked to Sunsinger. "So how was your break Sun?" Bladedancer asked. Sunsinger shrugged his shoulders. "Didn't do much. Just stayed home and read books. I mean, what else is there to do?" Voidwalker answered, "Wait we did visit the Speaker over the break and joined a internship at the Ishtar Collective." "Oh yeah..." Sunsinger trailed off. "How was everyone else's break?" Striker proudly said, "Well I think you should know I managed to down a few Cabal legionaries. No big deal." "Well you couldn't do it without my bubble." Defender added. "We did so well that even Lord Shaxx was impressed by our work." Gunslinger sighed loudly. "Bullshit. No one impresses Lord Shaxx." Striker and Defender huffed and crossed their arms. "You calling us liars golden dweeb?" Defender growled. "Well we ain't calling you honest now are we?" Bladedancer snickered. Striker and Defender stepped toward the duo when Voidwalker's voice cut the tension in the air. "Anyways, it's time for class guys and gals. Orientation is in the Vanguard hall." Voidwalker walked off with Sunsinger trailing behind her. Striker and Defender groaned in annoyance and followed, with Bladedancer and Gunslinger doing just the same. [/spoiler]
