"Alan, can't believe I'm saying this, but I am letting you take point. You seem to have the most experience with this new threat." Dakota lowered his rifle waiting for my orders. "What do you know about them? What did you see on the other side? Anything we can use against them?" asked James. "Well, don't let them touch you. If one does touch you, kill it as quickly as possible. If they die before you are Taken, you will be fine. Also, whatever Oryx did to them, their new abilities, are more or less random. There seems to no rhyme or reason, so we will have to adapt to our enemies. One final note. Most Takens' heads are black with a blue swirling object on their face. That is where Oryx had twisted their will, shoot there. Any questions?" "No, Sir!" yelled James. I led the way down the street. "He gives better Intel than you do, Captain." said James looking to Dakota. "Yeah. Wait, when have you started calling me captain?" asked Dakota confused. "I wanted to say your rank one last time before it is out done by a kid." There were no more signs of the Taken hunter around us. I guess the warlock and hunter planned to attack different sides of the City. A blood curdling scream came from two blocks down the road. All three of us looked at each other, "The hunter!" We arrived at the town square... that hunter was here. Taken mass was everywhere and dead bodies were scattered across the ground. I inspected a cut across a dead man's stomach. "This has to be his doing. There is Taken residue all over the cut. The cut itself seems to be from a sword, which he carried." "You said anything those Taken touch, become Taken!" said Dakota. "I also said their abilities are random. Unlike Phantom, this one may not be resupplying the army. A scout, assassin, foot soldier?" I continued to look at the bodies nearby. "Whether it is for the Taken army, or himself, but I think this one is a siphoning wizard." said Dakota looking at the man. "A siphoning wizard? What does that mean?" I asked. "One thing we had to learn about were siphoning wizards. They had this ability to steal strength from their enemies and use it as a weapon or use it to strengthen themselves. I believe that because of this. Look at how pale this man's skin is, he was drained of his life." "That is vampirism, or seems like it." said James. "I think we just dubbed our second Taken guardian. Vampire." I said looking around. Three titans, running from the other direction, arrived on the seem. "Bloody H***!" the titan with a British accent was petrified at the destruction. "Are you our back up?" asked Dakota. "We're here to kill that bas****!" the front titan held up his auto rifle. "Close enough." said James. "What do you know of the matter?" asked the titan leader. "This is a Taken hunter wielding a sword. He seems to kill for fun or self preservation. Anyone he kills is drained of their life." Dakota spoke swiftly. "Before he was Taken, he was a blade dancer, he may use blink jump as a form of transportation." I added. "Great job!" said the titan leader as he looked to Dakota. "What did I do in this matter?" Dakota asked. "You d*** warlocks taught hunters blink jump!" "Hundreds of civilians are dying right now... I don't think this is the time to have a class debate!" Dakota pushed the titan back. He had to be caught by his teammates. "Alright. You have proven your point." the titan shifted his gauntlet. "Look around, Guardians! We need to find any signs of where Vampire might have gone!" Dakota pulled out his rifle. Everyone was looking around for blood trails, or anything that could us a clue. We heard a building start to crumble. We all stood straight and looked to the building. The frame was moaning and was strained. Soon, the building collapsed from the inside-out sending a plume of dust and debris out the door. We looked up, but the dust screen was too think to see. "Head count! James?! Alan?! Three titans?!" yelled Dakota. "I'm here." said James. "I'm good." I said. "Titan 1, 2, and 3 are here!" yelled the titan leader. The dust finally settled to the ground. I wiped the dust off my visor and looked around. I made sure all six of us were there. Someone was standing in the middle of the road. "Who invited the second hunter?" asked a titan. "No one did." said James looking at the silhouette. The hunter in the distance reached behind his back and pulled out his sword. He started walking towards the group. "Identify!... Identify!" I yelled. We raised our weapons when he didn't answer. He continued to walk towards us, but he randomly teleported ten feet closer... then another ten feet... then another. The figure was in the town square with us. "That's him!" yelled Dakota. We opened fired on Vampire. He constantly teleported around us, but never attacking. We continued trying to shoot him, but he was dodging every bullet. He finally attacked, he teleported in front of a titan and stabbed him through the throat! We could hear the titan choking on his blood through the headset. Vampire hissed as he felt strength flow to him. "Vampire! You bas****!" yelled James. The hunter looked to James and pulled out his sword. The dead titan fell to his knees then fell over. "Vampire?! Vampire?! I like that!" The British titan ran up to Vampire's right and was about to hit him with the stock of his rifle. Vampire blocked the rifle with his sword. Vampire looked to the titan. He showed his huge fangs and hissed. Vampire stabbed the titan's helmet with his bone-like fingers! He ripped off the visor then stabbed his sword through the titan's eye! Keeping the titan on his sword, he used him as a human shield. Vampire kicked the body off his sword, sending it flying at me! I rolled it off of me and looked at him. Half of his visor was broken off, and his eye was engulfed in blood. It made me unbelievably sick! I was about to get up when Vampire jumped on me! His jaw unhinged like a snake, showing all his teeth. "This is the blade that you will fall on!" Vampire raised his sword! "Get off my friend!" yelled Dakota as he knocked Vampire with his rifle. Vampire hissed at Dakota. He got up and teleported away. He was nowhere to be seen. "Thanks Dakota." he helped me up. The titan leader was crying as he knelt down by the first titan that died. He got up and pulled out his shotgun. "That son of a bi*** is dying!" We gathered around and watched each other's back! "I see him!" yelled the titan. We turned around to see Vampire standing several yards away. He didn't move at all. All of the sudden, a voice echoed in my head. "Vampire is.. thirsty!" I tapped my helmet trying to get the voice out. I looked up at Vampire once more. He was right in front of my face! I quickly fired all eight shots! "Alan! Stop, that's not him! It's an illusion!" yelled James. Sure enough, Vampire was still way down the street. Vampire started teleporting towards us again, this time more often! He reached us, and we opened fire again! He swung once cut the titan's gut! The titan fell to his knees and covered his wound. Vampire reached for the wound, and pulled the man's intestines and choked him with it. I had to take off my helmet and puke at that display! Vampire looked at us! "Vampire has three more targets!" He jumped on James' shoulders, but James grabbed him and threw him into a wall. Vampire had dropped his sword when he hit the wall. He crawled on all fours to his sword! He picked it up and threw it at James. Dakota jumped in the way and deflected it with his melee push. Vampire ran and jumped on Dakota, tackling him! "Oh h*** no!" James picked up Vampire and snapped his neck. We all fell to the ground in terror. "Thank God that is over." I said. We looked around at the destruction and death caused by this attack.
