Chaperone
A shotgun shooting slugs should have substantially more range. I can barely tell the difference between the damage fall off of a normal shotgun and the Chaperone. There is zero spread with a slug. That's the point. Damage fall-off needs to be dramatically reduced, otherwise, it's not worth using, and it's not true to what a slug shooting shotgun should even do. It's an exotic, it should be no problem to have it behave very differently than other guns of its class. Thanks.

Just got it and tried it in crucible you can't hit SHIT at any sort of range. you literally have to put the shotgun in someone's mouth and pull the trigger to get a headshot this shotgun is like the bow in elder scrolls online where the projectile seems to not exist anymore after traveling a certain range. this shotgun is the no land beyond of shotguns, but worse at hitting precision hits. literally only usable as a quick 2 body shot up close shotgun for kills. what the fûck. so I guess i was trying to use it too much like a sniper. but I haven't tried using it at a range where it would be good yet. final edit: holy shit I love this shotgun now. getting those headshots is so satisfying. also, to OP, you gotta learn how to use it, it is amazing once you learn it properly and what its range is and being able to quickly aim and fire at the head using the ADS aim assist.

1 ReplyYeah, gonna have to disagree The Chaperone is an absolute beast. I took this weapon on all 3 characters for trials and went 9-0 flawless on all characters. The majority of my kills were also with The Chaperone. This shotgun just requires more practice since you HAVE TO learn to aim for the head(for it to 1 shot). There were plenty of clutch moments for myself with the shotgun where I would snipe 3 ppl with 1 clip of my Chaperone.

3 RepliesThey should increase the range. Also I think they should make it do slightly less damage to the body but increase the amount of precision damage it does.

4 RepliesYea increase the range by 5% max, I should be able to kill a guy using a conspiracy theory d with a headshot before he can kill me with a body shot. Also chaperone should be able to one shot at point blank, and I mean less than a meter

It has decent RoF. It requires precision shots to kill, it takes skill.

Oh its amazing as long as youre using it to get headshots like it is intended to be used. It has amazing range if you can pop off headshots

If this gun was buffed it would be completely broken, this is my absolute favorite gun btw so don't think I'm just marking this as a no because I hate shotguns.

i like the way it is ( its my favourite exotic)but i agree that the range could be slightly more

If anything, the last perk should get an upgrade, and some may argue a damage buff in PvE, otherwise, it is a well balanced exotic

Now do you know the ttk for two body shots with the Chaperone? It's about . 36 and the ttk of last word is. . 56 So the chaperone has a faster ttk then the last word (that's not including the fact it can one shot to the head) Increasing its range would make it stupidly unfair and basically a better year 1 last word in close quarters and also defeat the purpose of shotgun nerfs. Another interesting fact is the chaperone has better hip fire accuracy than year 1 last word. (100 % hip fire accuracyto be exact, it will always be center of the hip fire circle)
