Astro4545 and I have been having a discussion over whether or not Alpha Lupi would fall under the genre of an ARG.
Astro's argument is that there were no real world components to the puzzle, was too short, and is therefore not an ARG.
My arguement is that an ARG doesn't require real world components, just real world players. As long as you, not a character, are in the game, it's an ARG.
What do you think?

Can I ask what is an arg? Aha thanks

ARG, can stand for two things in gaming: Alternate Reality Game and Augmented Reality Game. These terms are relatively new, and do not have well defined meanings throughout the industry. In fact, some people use the terms interchangeably, though I personally feel there should be distinction between the two. In this case, I was referring to Alpha Lupi being an Alternate Reality Game. This would be characterized by being a game in which the players themselves are part of the game experience, rather than experiencing the game through a character or avatar. Also, the game takes place in the real world, rather than in some digital construction. Though the "plot" of the game is not necessarily part of our world.
