With games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, FPS titles were simple, balanced and required skill to win a gunfight. Now we have game-changers like our very own Destiny "super" that rewards even the worst of players a kill here and there. Some titles have yet to move to dedicated servers and others just seem broken and inconsistent.
The best FPS games have all had as few variables as possible allowing for fair, engaging gunfights. The very best (Halo 2 & 3) had a skill based ranking system allowing people to feel the accomplishment without gaining an unfair advantage in better weapons.

All games now cater to younger audiences and are extremely easy. Assassin's creed, CoD etc
