Has anyone here experienced sleep paralysis before?

Just curious. I know some people here have stated that they have before, and I've probably asked this before as well, but if you're one of them, what was your experience like? I think I may have had my first(?) experience with it last night. I don't remember most of the dream I was having, but I vividly recall the end of it. It's brief, but it was very different than usual, and that's why it stuck out. I'm sure a lot happened before this point, but my memory begins with me laying down on my side, and looking down what seemed like a very long hallway, with someone at the end of it. It was very bright, at first, but it grew much darker as the figure approached, and it seemed as though the hallway was simply "falling out of existence" behind it. When it finally reached the point I could see it, I recognized a very grisly looking clown holding a weapon of some type. The room was much smaller now, like an amorphous dark space. Now, i'm not afraid of clowns at all, but it registered in my mind as danger. I struggled my hardest to move, but couldn't. The clown walked behind me, out of view, and as I realized, "I have to wake myself up, NOW". So I did, I tried to wake up and kept trying to turn my head to see where it had moved to, and as I did it was like the amorphous space I was in was transfiguring itself into my room. As the hallucinations cleared, I shot straight up and was able to move again, but I had been laying in the exact same position in real life as I had been in the dream. So, to anyone experienced or knowledgeable in regards to sleep paralysis, does this sound like a case of it? My own scope is limited, and i'm looking into information about it at the moment. I just always think it's nice to have a second opinion, and I think it's interesting to hear about cases where it has happened to other people.

  • I dream lucidly and am in full control at all times. I have built a universe in which I dream and have written over 2000 pages of notes about this dream world which I fully plan on turning into a series of books. I have a couple of other projects I am trying to knock out first as I want to hone my writing a bit before I write what I was born to write.
