So, I'll pre-face this by saying that I main titan, specifically a Defender. (Though now I use Sunbreaker while soloing and playing Crucible, for obvious reasons.) Now, I get that there is a billion-and-one threads about how overpowered Sunbreakers are and how badly they need to be nerfed, so please, save your [b]'OMG SUBREAKERS SOOOO OP!111!1111!11!!!!'[/b] for another thread, and lets take a serious, grown up look at it. I'll be the first to say, Sunbreaker is too strong and needs to have it's effectiveness reigned in to bring it back in-line with other subclasses. My question to you is this: [b] How do we reduce the effectiveness of the Sunbreakers super without making the subclass as a whole entirely useless?[/b]

      For -blam!-s sake people the class is fine!!! He is slow as hell!!! His hammers are slow as hell!!! They arc so he has to take more time to aim them!!! It has the most distinct audio queue!!! He looks like an idiot holding that tiny ass hammer!!! The Titan can be easily overpowered... How??? [u]Keep the high ground[/u] Due to travel time and arc his super is extremely harder to use while aiming up. Also it will be easier to avoid the hammers and avoid AoE. [u]Speed is your friend[/u] Either run away since he is slow. Or just pop your super and run circles around him. This games sensitivity paired with turning slower while in 3rd person (I swear it turns slower!) makes it almost impossible for him to land a hammer near you. [u]Out-range him[/u] Perfect example here is GG. You can shoot him dodge his hammer easily then shoot him again. Works best the further you are from him. Remember he has to take into account travel time and arc. That forces him to take longer aiming. [u]Remember his hammers[/u] He can't really 'spam' hammers. He has to wait almost a full second to throw another once one is thrown. Which in destiny gives you a whole lot of opportunity. [u]You can super too!!![/u] FoH wrecks him. GG outrages him. Radiance can spam firebolts while avoiding hammers (radiant skin works best here). Nova bomb beats him (lance works best here). Shadowshot shuts him down. Storm caller can use its speed to circle him while avoiding hammers while killing him. Only thing Hammer really beats out consistently is Bubble and Bladedancer. Hammer isn't OP in the slightest sense of the word. It's a slow ranged tank class meant to take damage while dishing it out. If you don't think you got the firepower to take the tank out [b]WHY THE -blam!- ARE YOU SHOOTING AT IT!?!?!?[/b]

      • Guys I just want to point out that titans are meant to be damage sponging tanks, it's what they are meant to have over other classes. As striker and defender, depending on how you build it you can be incredibly hard to kill in your super, like unstoppable and armor of light. These two classes are less aggressive then sunbreaker. Now sunbreaker is still along the lines of what titans represent, but the only difference that sunbreakers have over defender and striker is that its an offensive tank class. A class where we hunt down the target instead of letting the target poke at us from a distance. Titans are meant to storm the battlefield just like hunters are suppose to be stealthy and quick. Going invisible and dodge rolling are examples of how bungie wanted hunters to be used. Stealthily sneaking up on people or getting out of situations that would spell death if you got caught. And this goes for warlocks as well. They are meant to have big and explosive crowd controlling magic. They are meant to reign down terror from either a distance or upclose and personally. Now then onto the super, I've been a titan since year one and a sun breaker since the launch of ttk. And the hammer doesn't have to be a 1 hit to other supers. And gg for example can be a 1 hit to sun breakers. It depends on your armor in your class. Titans that run max armor, which should be all of them in my opinion, are going to survive a lot of everything thrown at them. As it should be. But I've gone against storm callers running high armor and they needed 2 hammers to kill. Often times I don't get the second hammer off fast enough to kill them. If you run low armor expect to take big damage. And if your lucky enough to hit a nova bomber mid air, you better pray they don't have high armor or your not gonna kill them in time. Same for sunsingers. Golden gun has range over all other supers, requiring hunters to use their sharp shooting skills to gun down massive threats from a distance. Blade dancers that run high armor are just about as dangerous as sunbreakers aswell. Minus the hammer throw which is fairly easy to out last. And I don't even need to talk about how many times night stalkers have canceled out my super or cross mapped me with their bow. I guess what I'm saying is each class can be built to pierce another class, it's a matter of how you utilize your strengths and bulk your weaknesses

        If a Titan doesn't have the piece of armor that increases solar armor then a GG one shots it and so does a high impact sniper

        • Ymir uller, I apologize for these immature spammers who will most likely get banned from the forums due to spamming everyone's threads with bull shit. Hammer of sol is powerful. More powerful than any other super and it'll definitely be what I use doing iron banner and trials first. The perks allow you to have the best of all worlds with a shield, health regain, and 7-8 one shot kills. Do I enjoy using it.. Yes. I love going 3.0-5.0 a game for my k/d. Is it necessarily balanced compared to the rest of the supers? Absolutely not.

From what I can gather, he commands the Scrub Dancers from an Imperial PC just inside of his mother's basement. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, kick this loser in the nuts and break their grip on Nerfing Destiny more.

            • Imo all it needs is a slight reduction on the extra armor when it pops cause 55% + healing with every kill is what I think pushes it over the edge just drop it down to 25% maybe 30% and it should match everything else Notice nobody thinks storm caller is op because you can actually shut them just like the other subclasses

              • 1. toughness during super is in line with other toughness enhancments during supers, the difference is that titans are a toughness focused class and are able to reach toughness levels higher then the other classes (this in turn gives titans increase health, which is why they are able to survive things that the other classes cannot survive during their supers, who know 10-20 health would be so powerful. 2. the splash on hos suffers from damage fallof like a grenade, (and unlike a super) thus it is more then possible to survive the splash, and only direct, or near direct hits are fatal for a full health player, furthermore, the range of the splash is 2 meters, which is significantly lower then other aoe supers, and even lower then most grenade ranges.(note when using the one perk that allows bigger explosions, this range is increase to 3 meters) 3. the duration of hos is long but thats actually to balance it with itself, it has a very limited number of uses, and when hammers are thrown it decrease the time significantly. it does have double the time that a bladedancer has in super, BUT a hos is able to only trow 5 or 7 hammers, depending on build, while a blade dancer is able to attack SIGNIFICANTLY more often while in their super. 4. mobility, titans do NOT have the same level of mobility in actually COMBAT that warlocks, and hunters can achieve, furthermore, hos does NOT increase mobility in any way. while yes titan skating may exist, that is linear movement only and only really good for getting from point a, to point b. 5.there are no non hos issues with sunbreaker, hell its a weak subclass with a strong super, 6 na 7 na there i answereed all the issues with sunbreakers...aka there are no issues, just people don't understand how to counter the classes super yet.

                          [b]reduce armor rating while supered in pvp[/b] Every other class save for nova bomb and possibly titan smash can get one shot in the face with a sniper and or shotgunned meleed. The sun breaker can take major punishment which is great for [b]pve[/b] But not [b]pvp[/b]. The other two new subclasses need tinkering as well. I won't get into that but night stalker honestly needs a change for better as in a buff. Storm caller would either need a range nerf or a shorter time buff. But as a titan the armor stats are crap for pve, I should be able to take as much like pvp and I shouldn't be able to take as much like in pve for pvp. If this suggestion would be considered or done I believe sun breaker would be truly balanced in year 1 like. Where every super was counterable and able to kill in a timely manner and [b]useful[/b].

                          • I'm sure I've said it before somewhere if not here it is again. All in all Y2 supers seem all-around better than Y1 supers. Y1s could all use some tweaking here and there to balance this out but I couldn't go into detail with them all as I mostly run titan. But if I had to pick a sub for each class to get some tweaks to help their legitimacy for usage I would go Titans- striker: breakers, most often, do what these guys can and better. Hunters- bladedancer: the other subs do their jobs and do it well with all their uses. This one feels inferior to them as probably the shortest ranges of all supers, up there with defender, and least rewarding other than reliable resing in pve, which Nightstalkers can easily contend with. Warlocks- sunsingers: my favorite class pre- post- TTK still useful, But when compared to the others subs (for warlocks) feels like its getting left behind slightly. Not to say they really need a power boost I don't see that fitting but mayhaps give it a stronger support role or something. Oooh like a perk, in the last or third to last column, to make song of flame a passive while singing and replace its spot in the tree with something else. (here I was saying I wouldn't go into detail but I do love sunsingers ) Jeez too much to read.

                              • Hunters have two supers that one shot kill Warlocks have a bomb that can wipe an enemy team out and now an electric storm that can do even more damage Titans have a smash that may take out 1-2 players if lucky and a bubble shield Then they get a super that can match up against hunters and warlocks and everyone whines. It's super balanced.

Its so annoying to get a titan to low heath and almost kill him but he just kills you and keeps going on his rampage. At least if he cant regen health it will end his super faster.
